Do you mean a private one?
If you mean NHS, I don't think it's that difficult to find a pro VBAC one. Find a big teaching hospital where they know the data. Unless there are clinicial indicators for a CS, you should be fine.

Yes, sorry, should have clarified that. We have insurance which will cover us so am currently investigating private options.

If you're based near north/central london then St John's & Elizabeth's is a good bet. They take a natural approach to things.

Thanks Dubh, I was thinking of John and Lizzie's for that reason. Anyone have any experience of the consultants there?

Yes, I do. But not for the same reasons as you. I'd suggest that you get in touch with them and ask them to send you a list of their consultants. You can then see what each specialises and pick from there. John and Lizzies has a real natural ethos and will support your wishes for VBAC. I had a fantastic experience there and can't recommend it highly enough.

Hi
I work at John and Lizzies and there are a number of our consultants who would be very sympathetic to you having a VBAC. We have a really good success rate of 70%, some of those having a waterbirth (if all is ok during the labour)
If i can be of any help then please give me a call and I will gladly talk you through your options/consultants

Good luck

If you are in south London (Croydon) They hae a new consultant there (Mayday Hosp) who specialises in VBACS.

Thanks so much Kirstie and Peachygirl. We're in North London so John and Lizzies would be ideal. Kirstie, is the best way to contact you via the general contact number at John and Lizzies?

Can anyone recommend a private consultant who is truly VBAC supportive? Ideally someone who works at Portland. Thanks!
