Blu, just want to make sure this is really it before panicking anyone
With DD's they were every minute for a minute so got a way to go yet.

Nope nothing lost, waters broke initially with DDs then had to wait for cx to start up. Never just had cx before

Steps aside to chant useful encouragments from sidelines now doula's arrived

cluelessnchaos · 05/08/2008 23:42

for my 3rd mine jumped from 6mins apart to 1min apart and was full dilated by the time I arrived at the hospital 20 mins later

S1ur · 05/08/2008 23:43

This one could just be different though yes?

My waters both had to be broken and contractions went from 5-6 mins to birth pretty darn quick.

If you are comfortable, I would wait and bounce and see.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/08/2008 23:45

I think after a four hour labour the last time; I'd be sitting with my coat on at the door waiting for MIL to arrive before hot footing it to the hospital.

Call her at least; if she gets there and things slow down she can always sleep at yours, no?

Good Luck though....tis very exciting

liahgen · 05/08/2008 23:45

i would probably agree with other posters about just contacting mil to put her on standby.

liahgen · 05/08/2008 23:46

when is your due date?

gigglewitch · 05/08/2008 23:47

at the risk of giving you horribly bad advice, my third was 'just' contractions, for 48 hours. as frequent as every 5 mins - til we set foot in the hospital that is, then they disappeared . It appears i was "stuck" at 6cm

if you think things are progressing get mil in. if they're staying at the same level, sleep stay on MN

liahgen · 05/08/2008 23:48

ooh, i was on my way to bed, but i may just have a bowl of cereal,

nightcap anyone?

How are you feeling FL?

kookiegoddess · 05/08/2008 23:49

just toddling off to bed but thinking of you foghorn and wishing you lots of luck for a smooth delivery. Wowee I'm so jealous!! no doubt my little one will be kicking me all night again to show off how strong and clever it is... roll on 40 weeks... x

FoghornLeghorn · 05/08/2008 23:49

This is what I am concerned about Gigglewitch
Think I will wait things out for a while and see if they intensify, which they aren't at the minute.
Due date is Monday

sherbetdipdab · 05/08/2008 23:52

Oooh, how exciting!

I was at the hospital yesterday, contracting every 5 mins, waters intact, examined and no dilation so am at home, bored and still contracting on and off. Wish I could get this baby to understand that I'm having a section in a couple of weeks so all this is futile!

You could go really quickly if this is it!

I'm a bit jealous!

liahgen · 05/08/2008 23:53

probably best to try and sleep then, (not much fun for us though)

If you can't sleep, you can always have a couple paracetamol don't forget. Warm bath, if that stops them, then you probably have a way to go.

hope it happens fairly quickly for you. Am still here for a bit. x

liahgen · 05/08/2008 23:54

sorry for quick hijack..

sherbet if you go into labour, will youhave baby naturally? If you don't mind me asking.

sherbetdipdab · 05/08/2008 23:57

I don't think so, last time I was starting to rupture from a previous abdominal scar so I don't think they would let me.

You know, I never thought to ask I just got my section date and toddled off home.

S1ur · 05/08/2008 23:58

Foggy matey, are they changing? are they any different to when you started thread half an hour ago?

FoghornLeghorn · 05/08/2008 23:59

Nope Slur still the same

Think I might be better off going to bed and seeing what happens ..... although I really don't want it just fizzle out

OP posts:
liahgen · 06/08/2008 00:02

if its starting, it won't really fizzle out.

Have you some clary sage or similar to sniff?

sherbetdipdab · 06/08/2008 00:05

I'm off to bed, good luck Foghorn, hope this is your night and you have a baby by morning!
Seriously though good luck!

S1ur · 06/08/2008 00:12

Well you have options.
If it is about to happen then if you are relaxed then it is likely to take it course.

Go to bed and to try to sleep.
Get out the clary sage and get a lovely massage from dp.
Continue bouncing and chatting.
Go for a midnight walk.
Have sex

It could be a warm up, either way, you'll be having this baby soon, really soon, so it is okay if it isn't actually tonight

LackaDAISYcal · 06/08/2008 08:38

just checking for news of a little leghorn

liahgen · 06/08/2008 08:38

How are you this morning FoghornLeghorn?

I am hoping either your baby put in its appearance during the night, or you managed to get some sleep.
