No, but I had the most wicked bh after an orgasm. My stomach/uterus looked like it was shrink wrapping my baby - it was one of the strangest sensations I have ever had.

There was someone around yesterday who went into labour after sex, can't remember who though. I'm not much use am I?

minniebeast · 09/07/2008 11:38

yeah, happened to me but was 10 days overdue so could have happened anyway! had sex, went to sleep, woke up an hour later to waters breaking!

TigerFeet · 09/07/2008 11:45

I went into labour about 24 hours or so after having sex but who's to say I wouldn't have anyway? I know of people frantically shagging away to start labour, to no avail.

I got horrendous BH too ILTMIMI, and dd would push outwards to the right so my bump went all lop sided. Very, very strange and not a little bit offputting.

WideWebWitch · 09/07/2008 11:46

waters went during sex. I was overdue and desperate to avoid induction.

springerspaniel · 09/07/2008 12:11

Last time, I had sex and immediately afterwards felt like I had a watermelon between my legs. Few hours later, waters broke. Six hours later baby was born.

Am now 1 day over and trying to build up the determination (and desire????) to do it. Poor DH.

Apologies for TMI but do it on all fours. Seemed a bit more 'pokey' to me.

Ebb · 09/07/2008 16:06

Pounced on DP in the morning, waters broke that night, DS born following morning, two weeks early.

EEC · 09/07/2008 17:01

Very intense BH but no baby!

osborne · 09/07/2008 21:42

six days overdue with 2nd (1st induction as 10 days over), sweep not possible as cervix too high. had sex and contractions within half an hour! i can still hardly belive it was taht easy

Flibbertyjibbet · 09/07/2008 21:55

Yes about 9 months after.

at springerspaniel tmi.

paperdoll · 09/07/2008 21:58

Respect to Ebb for being physically able to pounce at 38 weeks.

maxbear · 09/07/2008 22:16

First time round
10am Sweep, (on my due date)
9pm sex
9.30pm contractions started
4am baby born

OK that sounds really good doesn't it, actually it was 4am the next day 30 hours later, but am convinced that the combo of sweep and sex started it off.

Second time round
no sweep
sex in the evening,
started to dream I was contracting at some point, woke up and realised it was not a dream at about 3am, baby born 1pm a mere ten hours later,

So as for me I am convinced that it does something, but only if you are ready as I did do it regularly from 37 weeks first time round. (much too tired second time round due to elephantine size!)

waitingtobloom · 10/07/2008 12:37

Yeo and agree with springer - from discussions about this with my friends it has to be doggy style!

Sounds like hard work but in reality you can just let him get on with it whilst you watch tv lol

HappyNewMum2Be · 11/07/2008 10:27

how did you persuade your hubby to get it on at that stage???!!! I am struggling to get a response other than normal cuddles and kisses and really do fancy a bit of fun (30 weeks at the mo)

waitingtobloom · 11/07/2008 12:44

Think maybe he is just a bit odd and will take what he gets. On all fours bump isnt so noticeable anyway lol.

Or you just take the approach that its the least he could do!

Midwife always said to me - what gets the baby in gets the baby out!

caykon · 11/07/2008 13:00

2nd dc 10 days before due went to bed had sex, within 1 hour started to feel uncomfortable, slowly got worse, thought surely not in labour tried to sleep couldnt by the next morning ds was in my arms.

nik76 · 13/07/2008 09:19

Sex on monday morning, baby out wednesday morning, has a little blood (TMI) from onday onwards.

Defo midwife approved!!!!

Friend of mine due to have induction had sex night before and went into labour just before going in.

biglips · 13/07/2008 09:22

ooh i like to have a go of this too when ill be about 9 months as dont fancy being overdue this time like last time - 2 weeks overdue.

What position is best?? or doesnt matter??

Pavlovthecat · 13/07/2008 09:24

Waters broke 6 hours after sex.

belgo · 13/07/2008 09:26

yes, that and a sweep helped me go into labour, but it didn't get going for two nights.

belgo · 13/07/2008 09:27

biglips - your choice of positions are rather limited at 9 months!

allgonebellyup · 13/07/2008 09:33

dd was 10 days early

think it was cause i had a good shag that morning, and the contractions/waters leaking started soon after that!!

theboob · 13/07/2008 09:37

withds1,my waters broke seconds after we had finished,i thought i'd wet my self but i was 10 days over .... was our first baby so we both went into a bling panic esp me thinking that the midwifes would be able to tell what i'd been doing

biglips · 13/07/2008 10:27

lol!!.....thats true. What i meant was doggie style or missionary?

beka277 · 13/07/2008 12:03

have been goin at it girls...but still no sign of labour!!! Maybe we need to go at it doggy !!

I do wonder if the position really makes a difference....
