Fascinating, thank you for posting!

It has made me wonder how much (or rather little) development goes into improving birth assistance instruments generally. We have so much technology but are still using instruments that look like they were designed by Sweeney Todd. I guess it’s not a lucrative field.

This is awesome! And the answer to your question is the same as anything - most of us aren’t inventors or looking to invent things. And those that are simply didn’t think of it.

Because car mechanics and other people involved in engineering etc are the ones who think up solutions and see cross-transferable methods.

It doesn't seem a bad thing?
