We are 12 weeks with our second child and planning a scheduled c-section at Pembury. Has anyone had a recent experience of c-section birth and consultant care there? The CQC 'inadequate' report doesn't sound very reassuring...!

I'm 14 weeks and will be delivering there. I am going to ask for a trial of labour if it happens naturally before 40 weeks but will have a section booked at 40 ( I've had two previous c sections at another trust).

My friend is a lead midwife there and she said they're very pro choice and for an elective they encourage music/ parent cutting cord/ mum wearing a special wrap so baby goes straight on your chest. I've had lots of friends deliver there and they only had positive things to say!

Oh I have read the report myself by the way and it doesn't make good reading I do agree! What I'd say is it will have been over 2 years by the time we give birth, and hopefully a lot of the serious issues have been managed, and let's hope that the service getting a spotlight shone on them like this will mean money/ resources are put into it as it's bad publicity!
