Anyone awake?
Am mumsnetting when I should be marching up and down stairs sideways I suppose.
they were like this from 4 to 8pm, then nothing til 11ish when every 20 mins. Every ten mins since I got out of bed at 1am.
Do you reckon if I turn up for induction and am far enough along I'll be allowed to schlep across to the MLU???

No idea about the MLU but I just wanted to say good luck. How exciting...making me feel broody.

Why are you being induced? I was induced at 39+5 with my dd due to high bp.

deaconblue · 30/04/2008 01:54

I had a waters leak on Monday evening so went to get them checked out at the ante-natal clinic yesterday and was told best to induce due to risk of infection. Am 38+2 so quite early but the contractions are here so she's obviously ready.
Had forgotten how much the blardy things hurt though

I ended up having pethidine and later an epidural. The epi was amazing...but I guess you're trying to avoid all that if you go to MLU.

You're going to see your baby today! I'm very ! How are you feeling?

deaconblue · 30/04/2008 02:03

that is very exciting, lets hope she doesn't have her grandad's ears or she will have to go back
Am fine, isn't it weird how a contraction can hurt so much you can't speak but the second it's over you are normal again. don't think any other kind of pain works like that

Does her grandad have Prince Charles ears?

Cxns are really v weird. Before I had dd I kept asking women with kids what cxn pain was like and they would say it was v hard to describe. I would think - oh come on, you must be able to describe it. Now i've had dd i know what they mean!

deaconblue · 30/04/2008 02:11

his ears are huge and stick out at right angles from his head!!!
Actually we had a 4d scan and I spent lots of time checking her ears and they seemed ok so we should be alright.
Think I'll head off for another bath and see if that helps.

OK I'm off to give dd her lunch (it's 1pm here, in case you think I'm some weirdo who feeds her child solids in teh middle of the night).

Good luck. I'll check back later to see if there's any news.
