After my rant I had a bit of show, maybe semi sweep did something after all!! I walked DS to school today, 2 mile round trip, I'm in agony now with what feels like SPD, prob normal though at 41 weeks with 10 lb baby and increased fluid? is it?

oops double post. sagitta apparently sticking oil of evening primrose up there is good. I'm trying it now! I swallowed one as well for luck!

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 11:59

Pineapple is meant to help Sagitta. Which I loved as I love pineapple.

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 29/04/2008 12:01

morning all.

Sorry I haven't been around this morning.

Dondons - well done (again) tis nice to see the full birth story. Welcome Amelie.

Nosnik - sorry the sweep didn't happen for you. And sorry you're in pain today - but perhaps this is it starting?

welcome sagitta

bobsmum - sounds hopeful... with a bit of luck, some nipple stim and good labour vibes, it might be today

when I say "stick one up there" I mean a capsule!

sagitta · 29/04/2008 12:56

Thanks for the welcome! (and the bacon butty). If it stops raining I might go and get pineapple and evening primrose,
but must remember to get sheets for the cot first...

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 13:53

Dont get the cot sheets today and you'll probably go into labour tonight.

I meant to get some travel shampoo and stuff when I went to the shop. Within 30 minutes of being at home I went into labour. Had to take the big bottles in.

sagitta · 29/04/2008 14:27

I like your thinking...I'll put it off till tomorrow!

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 14:28

I hope that sods law happens for you.

sagitta · 29/04/2008 14:32

Thanks!

sagitta · 29/04/2008 14:40

By the way, did anyone have a sweep that they think worked - and how long before labour did you have it? I suppose I'm asking - if mine is tomorrow afternoon and it works, how long have I got?

Nosnik · 29/04/2008 15:03

up to 48 hours if it works sagitta. Mine with DS1 worked in 48 hrs I think 48 hrs is max, someone on here said she went into labour on way home! Sis in law had two before going in to labour. If I could reach I'd give myself another one!! ha I'm desperate not to be induced!!

sagitta · 29/04/2008 16:05

Sorry you are so close to being induced when you don't want it...
I hope - if sweep works - its a quickie as I've got no childcare on the following night...

I don't trust him with his finger, it'll have to be the other!! HA HA, he is a builder, very callused hands!!

Nosnik · 29/04/2008 17:54

Know what you mean about child care Sagitta, adds to the stress doesn't it? Mine is half sorted as long as I don't need it between 4 and 8 pm!! maybe sods law will work for me too!

MW will tell you how successful sweep has been so you can take a guess how long you'll be. Come on here and tell us all about it after

Got childcare sorted now - mum's coming for a couple of nights, so the sweep had better work...

I'll let you know.

kayzisexpecting · 30/04/2008 09:51

I hope it works Sagitta.

sagitta · 30/04/2008 10:02

Thanks! Getting some pain now, as it happens, but not sure if its just the baby moving about weirdly....I can't remember what it's all meant to feel like.

kayzisexpecting · 30/04/2008 10:07

Oooh it could be happening.

sagitta · 30/04/2008 10:28

I have no idea what its meant to feel like when it does start happening, so could just be trapped wind for all I know!

kayzisexpecting · 30/04/2008 10:40

Does it come and go?

Can you talk through it? Thats what my MW asked me.
