Am sure that this time I'll just be going to make a drink and "ooh! The baby's here! Get a clean towel darling"

I'm right, aren't I?

ahh
1st birth - 35 mins labour = born
2nd 27 mins =born
3rd
ahhh I thought I'll have a lovely homebirth save that galloping off at speed
stop start 11 hrs, minute got in ambulance, things revved up - born 11 mins after arriving at hospital - on way ambulance man said she's not in labour yet, baby will be hours, sort out some syntocinin for our arrival.
My advice...
Don't presume

My 3rd was less an hour from waters breaking. Contractions for ooh, maybe half an hour?! 3 measly pushes. Job done. And she fed straight away and then slept for 7 straight hours.

She's my favourite.

gigglewitch · 09/04/2008 21:42

an hour of contractions, no pushes... no time for that and as everything had been stretched to bggry to get DC1 out at two pounds heavier - well need I say more

LilyMunster · 10/04/2008 08:04

pah, all you with your lengthy hour long labours.... ds2 was 45 minutes, tops. (and ds3 under an hour)

i actually feel rather cheated tbh! i want my centre of attention, arent i incredible, all about me and my primeval self, moment to last, well, long enough to take a photo or i dunno, get undressed at least! i didnt even have time to dole abuse as is traditional
rubbish.

MamaG · 10/04/2008 12:26

wow! Think we'll be ok misdee

Did you get the diabetes with all the others? Is it very likely you will get it again? Tell me to piss off if I'm being too nosy

hm...another one to put a downer on the Party...after 2 wonderful reasonably easy vaginal Births my 3. ds decided he didn't want to play nice and to spoil my Homebirthplan, by not coming out at home (dispite me getting to full dilatation) and I ended up being transferred to Hospital and an Emergency C-section....

However, I am sure I was just unlucky and he is just an awkward little so-and-so (which he is anyhow) and that your 3. child will indeed just "plop" out

Egg · 10/04/2008 12:42

I didn't even FEEL my third come out! No epidural either!! However he was the second twin and I think DD coming out 25 mins earlier hurt so bloody much I somehow didn't feel it when DS2 arrived.

mymama · 10/04/2008 12:49

Nope.

He was supposed to plop out quickly. My mw told me to setup camp outside the hospital as my 2nd birth was 1 hour from water breaking with no contractions to holding ds1 in my arms.

3rd labour waters broke with no contractions.

4 1/2 hours later out plopped ds2.

MamaG · 10/04/2008 16:58

4 1/2 hours is quick, to me!

3rd babies are like shelling peas.

FoghornLeghorn · 17/04/2008 16:33

Very interesting to read this.
DD1 - 28 hours
DD2 - 4 hours
DC3 - 30 mins

I'll defo go for a cough and a sneeze over here please, and maybe a week early too if I can be picky.
This is the first time I've acknowledged I have to give birth again in 16 weeks time
