Am sure that this time I'll just be going to make a drink and "ooh! The baby's here! Get a clean towel darling"

I'm right, aren't I?

I am actually going to wake up and she will be in the bottom of the bed and i wont have noticed.

maidamess · 08/04/2008 13:46

Yes you are right. Unless your third did what mine did and decide to make his grand entrance bottom first. That should have set alarm bells off for me...he's been a pest ever since!

peanutbear · 08/04/2008 13:46

well mine did virtually

MamaG · 08/04/2008 13:46

oho yes scorpio You'll jsut hear a little newborn mewling noise and wake DH up..."oh! The baby's here!"

Exactly

castille · 08/04/2008 13:47

Course you are!

Mine was induced and despite all the head-shaking and "oh you'll be here til tomorrow night" from midwife and obstetrician when I asked how long it would take, my labour start to finish lasted less than 3 hours. No pain relief either.

Easy peasy.

(it's been 20 months, I might have forgotten a few details...)

mynameis · 08/04/2008 13:48

Yep of course it will,

My second pretty much did. I think that I may have to go around with a hammock strapped to my groin for the last month of this pregnancy. Just in case....

MamaG · 08/04/2008 13:50

I'll tuck my trousers into my socks

Tee Hee!

oliviaelanasmum · 08/04/2008 13:55

My 2nd plopped out but i think dd3 was holding on inside refusing to come out

NorthernLurker · 08/04/2008 13:58

Hatrick that's interesting - my third was pretty much identical to my second as well. I had been hoping (and fearing) for one of those 30 minute jobs - but we had a perfectly reasonable 8-10 hours (depending on when you count from) To be fair to dd3 - i think she would have arrived a good 2 hours before she did had my waters actually broken - but they were annoyingly stubborn about going. When they went - she shot out!

MehgaLegs · 08/04/2008 14:02

No, DS2 did but DS3 weighed 10lbs 15ozs and he definately did not just plop out.

MehgaLegs · 08/04/2008 15:05

Have you all passed out at the thought?

OrmIrian · 08/04/2008 15:08

Have you seen the bit in Python's Meaning of Life with the poor family and the hundreds of kids? It's just like that

schneebly · 08/04/2008 15:12

my second came out without me pushing - had involuntary pushes and there he was. 8lbs 1oz. I did have a fair few stitches though but not compared to the first who tore me to shreds! (3rd degree tear)

TigerFeet · 08/04/2008 15:15

you will wake up one morning and there will be a lovely clean newborn in a moses basket next to your bed, sleeping peacefully

oh yes indeed

[from a mother of one]

Porpoise · 08/04/2008 15:15

Absolutely.

And they change their own nappies too.

Joash · 08/04/2008 15:19

Mine did. Waters broke at around 8.pm. No contractions until 11.15 and had DS at 11.55 - like shelling peas really

hannahsaunt · 08/04/2008 15:21

If 40 mins is considered plopping then yes . Go out for breakfast, go to the hairdresser, the library, have the baby! Easy peasy.

Was the only easy peasy bit...

MamaG · 08/04/2008 15:24

Good stuff - are you listening scorpio? Looks like we're sorted!
