but I have finally just watched me giving birth to 3 year old DD (at home, in birthing pool) and I am now so pleased he did video it. Only ever for mine and DH's viewing but wow!!! It was amazing.

I know - just couldn't resist being the first to point it out.

thank you. I'm still quivering from watching the video so probably not thinking straight.

How lovely. I'm glad you have managed to watch it now! Having said that...rather you than me!

mckenzie · 02/04/2008 08:34

everytime I closed my eyes when i went to bed last night, I kept seeing it all over again . It made me flinch but I still think I'm glad to have it.
And yes Starlightmckenzie, it has taken me this long to summon up the courage. Even though I have lovely memories of the birth (as opposed to DS's who was first) I was just too nervous to watch. And rightly so I think having now seen it! Mind you, it was quicker than I remembered it but just as lovely.

My dh was adamant he was staying at my head end during dd's birth (he'd have preferred not to be there at all), but he got so into it when the time came that he videoed her head being born. He didn't realise that her body would rush out so quickly though, so he missed catching that bit on film!

Lulumama · 02/04/2008 09:07

DH asked if he could film DDs birth, but was told that he could only do up to the moment of delivery and then immediately after but not the actual birth. i did not want him concentrating on videoing the action end..

anyway, we have some video of me in labour, and then video of DD being put on my tummy , before she has even taken a breath. and i am soooo glad. no video of DS as he was an em. c.s so nice to have the video of DD

That's a real shame Lulumama. I guess because mine was at home we could do whatever we wanted to. Still great that you do have some to look back on though huh?

CSWS, my DH was sooooo against a home birth but you can hear him in the video saying how amazing it all is
