TMI? CLITORAL PAIN AFTER CHILDBIRTH?

Unsure if this is the right board to be asking under?

I had an episiotomy with my daughter 2 weeks ago and the stitches opened after 4 days so it’s now healing by itself—no infections, just think it was from heavy bleeding and probably getting into the shower each morning (I have an over bath). For the past week there’s been this pressure/pain that feels as though it’s coming from behind my clitoris. It’s not constant, mostly when standing up for longer than 5-10 minutes, though at times if I’m sitting awkwardly it’ll come on. Did anyone else have this? Is it something to speak to my GP about or will it eventually just stop?

I did think perhaps the pain was coming from my urethra and the sign of a water infection, but there’s no pain when peeing, nor am I struggling to go.

You need to see a women's physio. Go to the GP and ask to be referred or you can have a private postnatal women's physio app for around £120 (but actually priceless).

Don't leave it x

I had this after my vaginal birth, it almost felt bruised. It did settle down once I'd healed properly, I just put it down to being sore from the birth !
