Anyone know the fees for the private C-Section consultants at St.Thomas'?

Hi,

I'm pregnant with twins and ideally planning to do the private C-Section at St.Thomas next year. The website only shows the hospital package fee which excludes the consultant's fee.

I will stay with NHS until around 30 weeks.

The questions are

  1. What's the estimated fee of the consultant for C-Section?
  2. Will the cost for the twins be doubled from the package?
  3. Any consultant recommended for twins c-section?

Thank you so much for your kind help.

Don't forget the anaesthetists fee too !

For a singleton birth it was around £20-£25k without major complications in 2021. I don’t know how much a twin birth would add to that and how much the cost has risen since then due to cost of living.

Just delivered there via CS last month. All it was approx £17k? Straightforward pregnancy, transferred over from NHS after 20wk scan. Consultant OB fees were about 7-7.5k iirc, anaesthetist ~1k. Reached out to 3 consultants earlier in the year and rates were v similar

Am in the middle of a private pregnancy at St Thomas'. Consultant is about £5k for the actual cesearean and aneathetist around £1k (obviously on top of hospital fees). I went private from 6 weeks so that was another £3k for consultant. If you want, I can privately recommend my consultant. I have no idea about twins but I'm having to have very regular appointments and it's not increasing the cost.

Hello, where did you end up having your twins? I’m due triplets in august and would like to find private maternity care. Thanks xx

We chose St.Thomas with Dr.Manju.

@Amarinbabies hi thanks for your reply. How did it go? Were you happy with everything. Also if you don’t mind sharing what was the total cost including consultant? Thank you xx

Ps. Also… did you stay with the nhs as planned until 30weeks? I’d like to something along those lines too. Basically just give birth privately.

Amarinbabies · 06/03/2024 13:44

No. We started with St.Thomas at the 24th week. Before that was with private ICSI. If you want just to give birth privately there, there is also a package for that. Can send emails to their PAs for the price.
