Wondering if I had a back to back labour, does this sound like it?

Had first baby in 2022. Contractions started off fairly irregularly, for example I’d have one, then none for 7 minutes, then three or four one after the other, then none for 5 minutes. Very hard to time.
Went into labour at 11pm at night. Stayed at home and only went into hospital at 5am because of some bleeding, pain was intensifying. Was 3cm on arrival. Then contractions ramped up and they were completely horrific. I had excruciating pain all across my lower back and sides. Every contraction felt like a giant metal vice was squeezing my lower back and pelvis together until they nearly shattered. It was also relentless, while the pain lessened in between contractions, it never fully went away and contractions were almost continuous towards the end. I was howling and screaming in pain, couldn’t move, thought I was dying.
its only now, 16 months on that I am wondering if I had back labour. No one mentioned this at the time. I think baby was born facing normally. Pushing took forever and I ended up needing assistance to birth the head. Please let me know if this sounds like back labour, or if I’m just pathetic!

I had a back to back labour. It was 32 excruciating hours. I know he was back to back because they told me as they saw his face appear as they ventoused him out.
I think they would have mentioned it to you, but you can always ask for confirmation. Either way, you are not pathetic, childbirth hurts!

In my back to back labour I had massive contractions and then smaller contractions in between that I could feel right in my back. They did mention it at the time. Baby span around upon delivery.

Yep it does. My first labour it took 4 hours of pushing, only reason I didn't end up with an instrumental was because I was on the MLU with no available beds on the main delivery suite.
Second baby was facing the right way and it was a doddle compared.
Send off for your notes though and you should know for sure.

I had back to back and throughout I would get one shorter contraction, then a longer one that was almost double in length. I remember having pain in my lower back, but had no indication that she was back to back until I birthed her head and the midwife said, oh she’s looking at me! My DD was quite small though which is probably why it’s wasn’t too bad despite being back to back (less than 24hrs from first twinges to birth)
