How soon after losing your mucus plug did you dialate/contract/active labour begin?

Around 7 days ago, I started to experience mild cramping in the lower part of my stomach. This feeling did not last and went away on its own, so I thought nothing much of it. Then later on, I used the toilet and wiped and there was a slippery feeling as I did so, so I looked and saw a sticky mucus like substance an off white yellow colour - did some research and I am sure it's partially the mucus plug that I wiped. The next time I used the toilet it happened again. So looking online it's been advised to contact midwife and seek advice as I'm only 32 weeks pregnant. Which I have done, and they just said the usual if I start experiencing 2 contractions in ten minutes I should come in etc.

Further to the first bit of mucus plug coming away 7 days ago, I've today had a 5p shaped bit of mucus plug come out. This is following a fetal cardiology scan @ 10am where they reported everything to be normal, and the baby was very alert and active during the scan.

So MNetters, how soon did labour start after losing your mucus plug? Did you notice ? Was it gradual, did you experience any cramping or other symptoms?

Really hope baby is on its way (also I'm 33+2 days) last baby was born 13 months ago and was induced at 37 weeks although I was already dilated as they examined me to induce.

I lost my plug at 37 weeks, it was huge chunks of clear mucus, came in bits over the course of the morning and must have grown back, that does happen!

I then had a bloody show at 40+2, (mucus tinged pink) followed by some light cramping. Had my son the next day. I lost more of the plug during labour too.

I had the same thing at 32 weeks. Every morning see that mucus on the panty liner. It can grow back. Now I am 36 weeks. Did read that since that labor can start in 4 weeks, so wondering if it will start this week already. Have backache, strong tightening but still waiting.

37 weeks.

Pink tinged plug then waters went that night. Like a waterfall. Contractions started 4 hours or so after.

Baby born 22 hours later. Full on pain relief though!
