Tightenings across top of bump 40w3d

I am currently 40w3d and waiting impatiently for labour to begin! I’ve not had any signs but felt quite sick today (only briefly).

For the last hour I’ve been getting what I think are tightening across the top of my bump (belly button up). I can’t tell if it is baby moving or if it’s tightenings. Feels like a wave from one side to the other. It is quite constant and quite different to any baby movements I’ve felt before. Could this be an early sign of labour?!

Is there any pain at the lower end of the bump?
And how often are these sensations coming?

Yes i had braxton hicks like this with my first which ultimately led to labour.
So you're probably close but not possible to say how long.

No pain but have been getting some shotting type pains at the lower end of bump and in my bum lol. The tightenings have stopped now 🙁
