Ahh!! It's tomorrow!! I've had a shower, bags are packed, tablet ready to take at 9pm. I'm an absolute bag of nerves. Cuddled my toddler extra hard at bed time. I can't believe this is the last time putting him to bed as just his mum. I've been pretty chill about it all until now I'm just a wreck. Omg! It's hitting me that I'm about to have major surgery too. I'm shitting it. I want to get a really good night sleep but I fear I won't at all. I have to be at the hospital at 7am! Ahhhh!

It will be the best morning every. So easy, and you get to meet your baby! Don't be nervous - I've got one 10 weeks today and yes I'm a little nervous and will be the night before but it's such a quick procedure and as it's planned like yours, a really great recovery. Repeat ' I am safe' 'I have a professional team who know what they're doing' 'I am on the right path for me'. these affirmations helped me sail through my first C section. It will be a walk in the park - I'm so excited for you!

Oh I remember this feeling! DC2 is 4 months old now and I remember all of it so well. You will be absolutely fine. Once you arrive they take over everything so you don’t need to worry about a thing. You are in safe hands, they do this every day. It gave me a bit on comfort to think this is just another day at the office for everyone there, the midwives, the surgeon, the anaesthetist etc. Don’t be afraid to tell them if you’re nervous, everyone I came into contact with was so kind. The second your baby is out nothing else will matter! Having gone through a long natural birth with DC1 I couldn’t actually believe how quick a c-section was!!!

Just wanted to say good luck. I remember feeling how you do so well. I've had two c sections. I cried from the fear both times but everyone was so kind.

Like PP said, just another day at the office for them. You'll be fine. Please update when he / she is here.

Ahhh good luck OP! I've got my second section in about 10 weeks. I get you, I was nervous as hell last time and will be again this time. But you will be fine. I'm actually a bit jealous because I'm impatient to meet baby (and also so done with this pregnancy thing!)

It's such a surreal feeling knowing it's tomorrow! I remember someone telling me before that they'd never find out the sex in case they had to have a caesarean because "imagine how boring it is knowing what you're going to have and exactly when you're going to have it".. well I'm calling bullshit! It feels like Christmas Eve as a child again! I can't wait to see his little face and decide what his name will be. Smile

And thank you, that's helpful, another day at the office is a good way of thinking of it. I'm more scared of the spinal insertion than anything else?! Eek! Good luck to everyone else waiting for theirs too Grin

Loved reading this little thread! I'm having my ELCS next Friday and know I'll feel exactly the same the night before.
Hope all went well OP! 😊

Nandocushion · 29/01/2023 04:23

Awww good luck OP. I had two elective CSs and both times DH and I went out for a lovely supper, champagne etc the night before, chatting with all the staff and other customers. I know it's fun having a surprise with labour but I really loved knowing and planning and getting to count down.

PurpleRaindancing · 29/01/2023 06:22

Hope it went well and that you're happily curled up at home with your newborn.

I loved my planned CS..,
