Overthinking - did I wet myself or could my waters have broke!

Last night, I went to bed and had a wee before going to sleep. Around 2:30am this morning, I remember my dream and I dreamt I went to the loo. I then woke to me peeing myself which has never happened! I went to the toilet and had a normal wee, changed and tried to go back to bed. Instantly, I started overthinking it as I’ve never wet myself in my sleep!

this morning, I can’t help but feel like this is not normal and could my waters have broke. I’m only 28+4 but do feel a slight pressure down below (not any more than normal if I wasn’t overthinking it)

there is no distinct smell to the liquid and I have had no more since I woke up, which makes me think it could just be diluted wee.

would it be worth a call to the triage to be safe? I just feel a bit embarrassed if I did pee myself!

100% call triage. It probably is just urine but anything like this is worth getting checked out as soon as possible. Hope it goes ok!

My waters breaking felt like a huge release in pressure. It didn't feel like a wee that I could stop/start. They also continued leaking out after the initial gush!

No one on here can really know though so best go and get checked to be on the safe side!

Definitely call your unit. They'll test the liquid to see what it is. I was 40+ weeks and thought I'd woken up sweaty, but called just in case.
They watched me a while and thought it wasn't fluid.
I then felt a small tiny 'gush' and said now! Check now! And it was my water partially breaking.
Labour didn't start naturally for me so was induced the next morning.

Yep you need to be checked to be on the safe side

Best to call. With my eldest I had a similar experience and it was my waters and not wee.

My waters broke the same way, a small leakage woke me up in the night. But when I got up they kept leaking for an hour at least, just small amounts at a time. I think it's best to get someone to check to make sure. Hope it all goes well x

speak to a midwife asap

I was 38 weeks and had the same. Was my hind waters and they needed to induce me after x time due to infection risk.

If your waters had gone they would continue to leak, however I don't think there is any harm in getting checked over for your own piece of mind.

My waters broke at 28 weeks, they continued to trickle on and off for a week, I also thought I had wet myself as did the hospital.

I told them I was in labour, they didn't believe me, did an examination and was 10cm.

Scary at the time but she is 11 now, hormonal which is way more scary 😅

Thank you all.

I’ve called and I am going to go to be assessed. I can smell a very very slight odour now the sheets are dry, so think it probably is wee, but would rather be on the safe side. Thank you 🙏

My waters leaked at 35 weeks (confirmed at the hospital with a swab) and I was induced at 37 weeks but they didn't continue to leak. The Dr at the hospital said that wasn't that unusual - I double checked it because I didn't want to be induced unnecessarily if it hadn't actually been my waters breaking.

@WeWereInParis that's interesting I wasn't told that by my midwife. Glad they tested you to make sure!
