  • Peppermint tea bags! My postnatal ward never had any despite the midwives best efforts to locate some and peppermint really helps with trapped wind and a warm drink is always a good thing.
  • Huge high waisted granny pants. As another poster has said, go as big as possible. Don’t be precious about sizing!
  • Very loose pjs or a nightie.
  • Slippers.
  • Travel size shampoo (I really appreciated washing my hair in the shower the day after my section).
  • Deodorant (I also appreciated putting on some deodorant after my shower!!).
  • Tooth brush/ toothpaste / mouthwash.
  • Cosy dressing gown.
  • Slippers.
  • Phoned charger!

Large high waisted lose knickers
Night period pads
Nightie that is easy to get boob out.

Nightie is the best by far as it allows breathing 😂

If, like me, you can't take peppermint tea (it makes me wretch), someone on here suggested Windeaze tablets for gas which I used for my 2nd ELCS two weeks ago - worked a treat, no gas pains this time around.

I second a strap to tie over the end of the bed so you can pull up with your arms.

Mint tea bags
Water bottle
Sweets (the pack of chocolate raisins I had at 2am after my section were amazing!)
Extra long phone charger

I very long scarf, a friend tied one to the bottom of my bed to use as a pully to sit up and it was so helpful.

Earplugs and eye mask, especially if you are staying in beforehand
a proper china mug with a handle. 5 days is a long time to drink tea from a plastic cup!
