If you were induced with your first, how did the second go?

I know every pregnancy and birth are different, and there's no set rule how the second with go based on the first. I'm just curious to hear your stories,.those of you who were induced first time round but weren't the second. I've heard that very often second births are faster than first but I'm wondering if it's the same if you were induced first then went into spontaneous labour with the second.

How many weeks were you when you gave birth with each pregnancy? And how long were your labours?

I had to be induced due to high blood pressure with my DS at 37+1. I gave birth at 37+3 after a very quick 4 hour labour.
I'm 15+4 with my second and my blood pressure was already climbing at this point with DS but this time round, it's absolutely perfect, even a little low sometimes! So I'm just lying here wondering if I don't have to be induced this time, will I go longer than 38 weeks, will labour be longer, was my labour fast with DS due to induction or do I just labour quick.

As I said, I'm aware it really means nothing and anything could happen my second birth! But it would be nice to hear how it worked out for others

@MissP2022 sorry I just saw your latest reply, that’s interesting… I didn’t feel like I had any option, they kept me waiting for 40 mins after the scan, put me on CTG but didn’t tell me why or what was going on, then the consultant came in and said induction in 10 days booked in … I didn’t think I could question it. It was super stressful plus a shock as up until that point all was ok. I just nodded and went home! I might see if I can discuss/ explore options. Thanks 👍

@Balletshoes2022

I had lots of Braxton Hicks if that was a sign of being ready … although I also had these with my second and he came past due date (although my labour was just over an hour start to finish there). I was 2cm dilated before induction began with my first.

To be honest, hypnobirthing is very about being informed and empowered, particularly for your birth partner as you will be busy during labour. You are always entitled to ask questions and get more information. It is your birth and your choice. There are options.

DC1: 41w, waters broke, no contractions, induced. Painful. Time from waters breaking to birth - 26 hours.

DC2: 38w, contractions first. No induction. Much less pain. Time from contractions starting to birth - 6 hours.

Good luck.

Dd1 induced at 36w as waters broke. Dd2, born at 40 plus 2, started off just having waters broken, then put on the drip. Was back to back, turned manually. Ended up with a button hole tear and cord wrapped round dd like a mummy. Second definitely worse

@Balletshoes2022 my induction was actually a very positive experience. They put a hormone stripe up me on Tuesday evening at 6pm but it did nothing so 24 hours later they gave me pills to get the induction moving along. I had my first pill at 6pm Wednesday evening, then they gave me another 2 at 10pm and my body responded well lol. I started labouring at around 23:45 and baby was in my arms at 4:25. No idea why it went so fast, I do remember being very relaxed and just happy he was coming but even the midwife was shocked at how fast it went 😅
It was pretty painful cause it went so fast but I just pushed through it as I ran out of time for an epidural. I did have some alternative pain relief though.

Induced at 42 with first which was fine and straight forward. Clearly just needed the pessary to get things going as it all went like clock work once my contractions started.
Went spontaneously with second at 41 +1 was quick labour 2 and a half hours from first contraction to baby in arms.
Went spontaneously again with third at 40+2 even quicker labour of 1 hour 15 from fist contraction to baby in arms.
