was moving a sofa (don't ask) when I felt a gush, raced to the loo, pink liquid (have been bleeding all day from a show). mopped it up, don't think it is wee.
went to get pads from upstairs (don't ask), came back down and knickers were soaked.
went upstairs to get knickers, am now sat on loo.
dh is in an exam in london until 9pm, there isn't any need to bother him yet is there?
neighbour not home yet.
on my own.
with laptop.

Oh! I love Childbirth threads!

I agree you need to eat and have a drink (of water!) then go and lie down for a while.

JingleyJen · 17/01/2008 18:30

mom2latinoboys · 17/01/2008 18:37

Bellabear, you are never truly ready. Just go with the flow.

beansprout · 17/01/2008 18:38

Best wishes to you Bellabear.

mom2latinoboys · 17/01/2008 18:39

I am feeling the same BB, but am not leaking so it's easier for me to dismiss. Have you spoken to your MW?

Good luck Bella. You don't feel ready cos you don't know what to expect, but that is normal. If your contractions become strong and regular, welcome them as they are bringing your baby to you. If they don't hot up, rest, eat and sleep.

lulumama · 17/01/2008 18:53

you don;t need to go in now

if you can still post on mumsnet, labour is not established ! when you need to go into yourself, close your eyes and want to shut the world out, then you should go in ! or when ctx are too much to handle at home.

try to relax

don;t forget to breathe

go with the flow, listen to your body, and don;t tense up. make a concious effort to loosen your shoulder, your hands and your bottom...

you will be ok

i promise

mom2latinoboys · 17/01/2008 19:01

Are you still at your neighbors house? The company will be good distraction. Have you heard from your dh?

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 19:04

dh is in exam for another two hours
am at neighbours and being looked after

OP posts:
lulumama · 17/01/2008 19:06

take it easy

keep us posted

and go with the flow

if labour does not kick off in the next couple of of hours, go for a sleep !

betterhalf · 17/01/2008 19:08

BellaBear, I am so excited for you. Everything is going to be just fine. Just listen to the wise ladies on here ( of which I'm not one . I'm due to have my 1st in a week so have zero advice to give!)but wanted to say 'All the best'.

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 19:09

take care x

MarsLady · 17/01/2008 19:24

DON'T time the contractions. Leave them let them happen. What matters is the length of the contractions not the time between them.

Go to bed. The absolute best thing for you is that you rest just now. If you can't sleep watch a comedy. Try not to focus in on the contractions. The aim is keep you home for as long as possible and if you start concentrating on the contractions now you will find it harder to cope later.

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 19:43
