following on my my earlier thread

was moving a sofa (don't ask) when I felt a gush, raced to the loo, pink liquid (have been bleeding all day from a show). mopped it up, don't think it is wee.
went to get pads from upstairs (don't ask), came back down and knickers were soaked.
went upstairs to get knickers, am now sat on loo.
dh is in an exam in london until 9pm, there isn't any need to bother him yet is there?
neighbour not home yet.
on my own.
with laptop.

perhaps you're going to have a virtually pain free labour

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 17:28

Do you mean a hind water leak? Sounds like they are leaking to me, Lulu will know better.

Contractions don't always follow the waters breaking.

Have you got anyone that can come and sit with you till DH get's home?

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 17:30

when neighbour gets home, but she isn't yet.

Sounds exactly like when mine went in hospital.

Have you got a pad on? Is it soaking through that?

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 17:32

Do you know when she will be back?

Is there no one else you could call to come? I would panic if I was on my own, not that there is anything to panic about, I am a bit of a fruitloop!!

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 17:32

yes one of the massive mat ones. i've chaged two in the last twenty mins

OP posts:
BellaBear · 17/01/2008 17:33

Deffo your waters.

Can you grab a towel (as in bath towel) or something so you can get to the phone?

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 17:34

What are you confused about?

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 17:34

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 17:35

LOL I know, you already said

lulumama · 17/01/2008 17:35

soudns a bit much to be a hindwater leak... get a bath towel , as suggested and waddle with it between your legs ! elegant, oh yes !! you can put a towel on your birth ball if you have one and sit on that too....

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 17:37

Just as you can have contractions before the waters break, you can break the waters before contractions start. There are no text book instructions to follow.

Just make sure you put the phone on charge, try and get the other from upstairs, sit back at laptop and type away till something happens

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 17:37

another pad gone. am near enough to bathroom not to worry, yet.
have got ohone will ring now

OP posts:
lulumama · 17/01/2008 17:37

don;t worry, lots of time for the painful bits !!

don;t thikn of it as pain, it is an 'interesting sensation that requires all of your attention' to semi quote Ina may gaskin !

SpacecadetOnADiet · 17/01/2008 17:38

I was told, dont know if this is correct..but you can have a forewater leak where the waters around the babys presenting part(usually the head) leak out..

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 17:39

gone from sat on the loo with the laptop procariously balanced on your knee, to waddling like a duck with a towel wrapped round your legs....

FlllightAttendant · 17/01/2008 17:40

Lol Lulu!!!!

Are you Ok Bellabear? Where are you, wondering if ne of us is near enough to come and sit with you?

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 17:41

Actually Lulu, that is very true, with DS1 I was fighting the next contraction begging it not to come , with DS2 I stopped saying 'no' to the contractions and said 'yes' instead and it did help, strangly enough, though I am sure everyone thought I was enjoying it a bit too much again.

NatalieJane · 17/01/2008 17:42

I wasn't by the way.

BellaBear · 17/01/2008 17:44

spoke to lovely mw who says wait till dh is home unless things change rapidly

am in st albans
going to watford mw centre

think i'm okay

OP posts:
lulumama · 17/01/2008 17:45

i was shouting that down the phone to my sister when she was in labour with her DS

'don't fight hte pain, go with it ... !' she probably would have slapped me if i was stood next to her

a hindwater leak, is from above the baby;s head, and it is usually a small amount, when the waters in front of the baby;s head go, the forewaters, it is more often a big gush,a nd that is when your waters are considered to have broken...

certainly, something is happneing !
