Can I have a bath 10 days after C section still with a catheter?

I’ve kept my incision really dry all this time and had quick showers but really miss my baths.
google has mixed views on whether it’s ok to bathe with a catheter but I would feel just so good after a decent soak even in a shallow bath to keep tummy dry!
does anyone know if this should be ok? I’m on antibiotics and feel it probably is but maybe I should just wait another week if not sure.

Yes you can. Can I ask why your catheter is still insitu?
Congratulations btw.

I had salt baths pretty much immediately I got home with my section. Not sure about the catheter though as they wouldn’t let me out until I could wee.

I'd salt the water but I would think its OK. My niece had an operation a couple months ago and was allowed baths again after 7 days as long as we redressed the incision and kept an eye out for signs of infection.

Thank you!
they tried removing the catheter twice but both times said my bladder needed longer to recover.
That’s a good idea about the bath salts.

Dry the incision with the hairdryer as well to ensure the skin is completely dry.

I gave advice to do this on here and was told it’s very bad to do this.
(I did it, but only after six weeks and was told no baths before this time).
I wouldn’t risk it, can spread infection and bacteria thrive.
This was six years ago, maybe things have changed.

I’m replying from the bath: in absolute relaxation heaven!! As I just don’t like showers as much . I’ve kept it shallow so the water isn’t over my incision and I managed to find some magnesium salts but have now ordered my next 10kg from eBay !
thank you all, I still won’t have one regularly till catheter 3 is hopefully out end of next week but it’s just boosted me so much to manage one.
