Anyone else 37wks+ and (impatiently) waiting for baby to arrive?

Hello - I'm 37+6 today with baby no.2.

Anyone else so fed up of the waiting game now and constantly looking for any sign of labour?

The pressure on my cervix etc is becoming unbearable at times, I definitely don't remember being this uncomfortable first time round!

My DC1 arrived at 38+5 and hoping this one follows suit although I have a feeling I will go overdue Sad

I'm 36 weeks on Sunday and I'm (not so) patiently waiting 🙈 logically, I know the kid needs to cook for a couple more weeks but I am gagging to go into labour. Utterly miserable pregnancy and I cannot wait for it to be over.

Keeping everything crossed for you that it won't take long!

MsSquiz · 01/04/2022 10:44

I'm 36+6 with dd2 and I'm so over it!
I had an anterior placenta with dd1 so the movements have been so much more hardcore this time round! Plus the exhaustion is off the scale - though running round after 2 year old dd1 doesn't help!

Dd1 came at 39+6 so I'm not holding out much hope dd2 will be especially early!

css04 · 01/04/2022 13:12

@Sprat12 yep I am the same, I do not enjoy being pregnant and these last few weeks feel like a lifetime!

@MsSquiz the exhaustion is definitely real, my DD1 is 18months and wow I took all that free time to rest and relax first time round for granted Confused

My midwife said to me the other day that if you didn't go overdue with your first it's unusual for you to with your second but I've read so many posts about the second cooking for longer!

@css04 my poor friend was due went 13 days over with her second earlier this year, so I'm taking nothing for granted! Shock

Ah, all that time when you could nap and watch tv that wasn't paw patrol or CBeebies!

We've all currently got covid too so dd1 can't even go to nursery! This week has been looooooong! (Luckily we are too ill with it, it's just been like a bad cold for us all)

I’m 37+1 and not feeling any labour signs just very exhausted . This is my third pregnancy but I had an induction at 38w with my first and an ELCS at 39+3 with my second so expecting I won’t go early with this baby . Might need to be induced at 40w as trying for a VBAC but will see how it goes . Have my first sweep next Tuesday if they can do one that is . But the last few weeks and both exciting and exhausting.

Dreamworks · 01/04/2022 14:02

I'm 36 week on Monday and got my induction booked for 37 week but I really want baby to come off her own accord before then as I don't know if I can cope another week! DS came on his own at 36 week so I'm hoping this one follows

89redballoons · 02/04/2022 08:49

I'm 39+3 today. My eldest was born spontaneously at 39+3. I'm much bigger than I was at the end of my first pregnancy, and have been told this baby is measuring on the 67th centile and his brother was born on the 10th.

I'm so over it!

Moody123 · 02/04/2022 09:45

I'm 37+1 and I am so done.. I have 'lightning crotch' or something which when I turn or move I just hurt so much (the tiredness I can deal with)
However I am now on maternity leave so no office chair for 8 hours, so I'm hoping I'll be better soon and can be a bit more active
My DH has been amazing helping out with our 5 year old, but I miss being able to play with him

Lzgs · 02/04/2022 18:16

I am 41+2 and still waiting 😭😭😭 had a second sweep today. Induction booked for Monday 😣

babywalker56 · 02/04/2022 18:38

I’m only 36 + 4 with baby no 2 but hoping I can join this thread😂

I’ve been over this pregnancy since I was about 20 weeks. Luckily I’m having a C section so I only have about 2 more weeks until I’ll be 39 weeks and baby will be here. Isn’t it funny how much the last weeks absolutely drag. Makes me so miserable lol

Sprat12 · 02/04/2022 19:22

Is anyone else still waiting patiently for their bump to drop? Mine doesn’t appear to be going anywhere and I’m so frigging uncomfortable. I can’t breathe or eat properly, let alone put socks on myself.

My manager said to me earlier in the week ‘oh that baby is nowhere near ready, you are still carrying far too high’… I nearly punched her in the face. As if I wasn’t aware of that myself 🙃

SaraKitty · 02/04/2022 19:57

Yes @Sprat12 Mine hasn’t dropped yet - 37+2 and 3rd pregnancy . My consultant said it should drop by 38w , I’m so uncomfortable

isthatanotherbastardgrey · 02/04/2022 20:04

Yup! 37w3, she's giving me an absolute bashing, and I've got cramps and lightening crotch something chronic. Couldn't get out the car earlier and cried on the drive in front of three sets of neighbours, which was a tad awkward 😫😫😫

boymummys · 02/04/2022 20:13

I've got 8 days left and bump still hasn't dropped 😩😩 still not sign of baby!

CountessLovelace · 03/04/2022 16:42

Due today. Bump not dropped either. Trying to be chill about it but seriously, child, do you need help finding the exit? 🙄😂

89redballoons · 03/04/2022 17:22

At my 38 week midwife appointment baby was apparently 3/5 engaged. That was about 10 days ago. Since then, DH has looked me up and down and said "if anything I think your bump might have got higher." 😣

boymummys · 03/04/2022 18:35

@89redballoons haha my partner said the same thing. I was according to the midwife 3/5 engaged at my 36 week checkup up.
Had a different midwife at my 38 week check up last week who said " he's very low down" my partner looked at me and said are you sure because he's getting higher to me 😩🤣

geemeister · 11/04/2022 20:32

38+3 STM here and I’m so fed up of being pregnant, I wanna meet my girl now ! Honestly had the worst SPD imaginable from 20 weeks, growth scan 3 days ago said she’s very very low down and probably engaged but they couldn’t tell properly because of how low she was on scan, so I’m hoping for her to come soon.

Anyone else symptom spotting like crazy? I swear the minute I get a sniffle or feel sick or get a BH I’m like “omg is today the day?!” And … Nope, wake up the next day, still pregnant, still in pain 🥲 fingers crossed we all have healthy babies soon!

MsSquiz · 11/04/2022 21:23

@geemeister I'm 38+2! Missed my last midwife appt thanks to covid but we're all good and negative now so going in tomorrow. Hoping baby is still snugly in the right position! 🤞🏻

And I'm with you on the symptom spotting! Every move, twinge or loo trip, I'm driving myself mad 😂

SaraKitty · 11/04/2022 22:10

I’m 38+4 today , having my third sweep tomorrow ! 2cm dilated and soft since a week ago but no labour signs . Symptom spotting of course every little twinge 😂
