Maternity Pads or Adult nappies ?

I am having a C-section in a few weeks, after having previously had vaginal births

In terms of bleeding afterwards, I'm not sure on how much to expect but have been lots of people online are recommending the adult nappie pants rather than pads as more "secure" and comfortable

Just looking on other opinions and recommendations!

I just used maternity pads and normal pads after my csections, not wearing nappy pants for anything!

I just wore a pad after my c/s.

Didn’t have a c-section but I wore both. Pads for the first week or so until I found the pants in Home Bargains. I’ve always had a gripe with pads and find them uncomfortable at the best of times, but the pants were very comfortable and I felt a lot more secure wearing them with a dress, which was required having a June baby ☺️

The adult nappies were so comfy and convenient the first week or so. Afterwards I used normal maternity pads which were ok.

This time I’ll be using the disposable adult pants, then switching to washable pads once things have settled a bit.

I had an EMCS with DS and wore adult nappy pants from straight after the birth. They were fab and so comfy! Didn't bleed much after the first week at all so wore a regular pad for the next few weeks until it stopped altogether.

I used normal sanitary towels, specifically always ultra pads after both of my sections. Maternity pads weren’t necessary and I was told to avoid disposable pants by my consultant as once they dressing comes off you want breathable material like cotton over the scar to promote healing.

Nappies for the first week, then normal pads.

I used standard Boots maternity pads both times (both sections). The sort on 3 for 2 most of the time.

I don't think there's much different between bleeding after a section vs natural birth, but people sometimes expect less bleeding after a section as they do sweep things out in there a little. Both times round I bled for six weeks after.
