Hair loss months after giving birth

I gave birth 4/5 months ago and have noticed hair loss the past two weeks. Apparently it’s a thing. So far I have no obvious bald spots but I’m wondering how much longer it will go on for. Anyone else here experienced it? Did your hair recover?

How long is your hair? Im the same time pp and my hairdresser chopped about 6inches off because he said the weight of my hair was making the follicles weaker on top of the pp hair loss. So ive gone shorter to give it chance to recover.

It will grow back. Expect it to carry on for a good while though- mine started about 2 months PP and had just slowed down now at 7 months. You might not have obvious bald spots but I find that my hairline obviously recedes and then when it starts to grow back I get the really short curly bits all round my hairline. Once baby is about 18 months it is usually considerably less noticeable in my experience.

Thanks for reply. It’s not that long. Just past my shoulders. I never thought of a haircut. It’s something to try out.

Mine kicks in about 12weeks post birth, same time as period actually. Lasted for about a year
