I had an emergency c-section with ds1, and was in for about 6 days (well I was completely useless with him!) I had elective c's with ds2 and 3 and was in for 3 days and 2 days respectively. The stitches were taken out by the HV and I really wanted to get home. I suppose if you can 'prove' taht you are reasonably confident with feeding/washing/changing baby, and you've been to the toilet (no I dont know why, but they need both types!) you will probably be chucked out. Good luck!

I had an emergency c-section in the early hours of the Monday and was out on Weds pm!

Was pleased at the time, but in retrospect, slightly odd with general anasthetic and first baby. Must have needed the bed.

Hi Sheena and congratulations.

I had an elective section in the RAH Paisley in June this year.

They wanted me out after two nights but I asked to stay in an extra night as I was enjoying the rest still quite uncomfortable

The staff were wonderful, couldn't fault them at all.

Hi Sheena

I had an emergency c-section late Tuesday evening and came out of hospital on the Thursday evening - was fed up by then!

Good luck.

i stayed 5 days with dd2 - but was going home to no real help beyond dh who had to work - no time off.

dd3 - had her fri morning, home Sunday morning - but had dh at home for a couple of weeks and knew I could rest at home and how to care for wound etc. It was also my third c-section.
