I'm due with DC3 any day now. Predicted weight 3800 / 8lb 6oz and potentially bigger if he stays in any longer.

Last two DC were roughly 3000 and 3400 so fits the pattern.

However, I'm quite slim (though tall) and people keep making Shock faces or wincing at me Hmm how they intend this to be helpful I am not sure.

It's making me a bit nervous! I have always maintained that your body won't make a bigger baby than you can give birth to (with exception of issues like GD etc). I've had a GD test because it's standard where I live even though my BMI is lower, which came back fine. I've also heard that bigger babies are easier to give birth to but anyway, I just need some more confirmation to bolster my original confidence!

I was told DD2 was big at possibly 5kg (11lb) and she was born 3g heavier than her sister at 3.2kg (about 7lb)....

My second was 10lb3oz and a lovely easy 2 hour labour and birth, no intervention required. A very minor tear but I didn't really notice. He was born with me stood up as I just couldn't seem to get comfortable any other way and it was easy. My first was a much harder birth and she was 7lb11oz.

4200g. Small episiotomy but I think they wanted him out fast because his heart rate was starting to do funny things - no other tears and no issues healing. The pushing stage only took about 20minutes. It was an induction because he was well over due date. I had an epidural but that was because of the pain of the contractions and not to do with his size. And because they don’t tend to offer anything else where I live. I would probably have been fine with gas and air and a local for the episiotomy. No post partum issues. I think babies are easier to feed and feel less fragile to dress and bathe.

I'm not an expert having only given birth once but it was quite easy, no drugs or interventions. I had a small episiotomy which was stitched and healed nicely.
