Hi all!

I am 38wks 4days and in the early hours of this morning I woke up with sharp intense pains coming and going every 5 or so mins in my back and sorry tmi but bottom 🤣. Timed them within the hour and tried moving position to see if they would ease. I also had a shower and they were still happening.

I called the Delivery suite and they told me to come in. Arrived at 2 am and was put on the monitor which was showing contractions between 3 to 5 minutes. Baby was doing well which was great news. Midwife saw that contractions were happening often and checked my cervix and it was 1.5 cm long and soft. No dilating yet of course.

I have a C section booked on Monday and they said to me if I did show dilating they would have done an emergency section today but that wasn't the case. I stayed in until 8am to speak to the dr who clarified the same thing.

At this point the contractions eased and they've completely gone now? My back is very achey and feels bruised but other than that no more contractions.

I've been told I'm in the latent phase and it could take hours/days or weeks to change. They said to come back if they ramp up again so they can check my cervix again to see if there's been any change.

Either way baby will be here Monday but I'm now very anxious about what could happen this weekend!

Anyone else having this? Had this? Could offer their stories? I know everyone's experience is different, but would just like to read some stories of what happened to you.

Much love x
