How long did it take you to heal after a vaginal tear/ graze

Had my ds just shy of 5 weeks ago. Had a grade 2 vaginal graze that needed stitches. It's on the posterior part of my vagina. It's still looks red and stings like a bitch when I wee. Already had one set of antibotics one week post delivery.
How long should it take to heal, would have thought it should have been all healed up by now 😞

Hi op! Congratulations on the birth of your son 💗

I had a horrible tear and a graze right next to my urethra which was awful for going for a wee haha, I had over 20 stitches, which in total took almost 2 months to heal.
I started to notice it healing when the stitches were falling out.
Maybe ask a midwife to check, assuming they're still doing your home visits?

I had similar, can't remember how long it took to heal but whenever I went for a wee I held toilet roll over the stitches and it helped. Hope it's feeling better soon. Even just sitting down was not nice :-( xxx

I had 2nd degree internal tear and a graze on my labia. I'll be honest it took me a few months to be able to sit down without wincing. I highly recommend Spritz for bits by the Expert Midwife, it's expensive but helped soothe my downstairs no end! Also highly recommend Epsom salt baths daily. Congratulations by the way! X

Hi! I know you posted a few weeks ago, but I had what I thought was some grazing that was still stinging several weeks after birth. I saw the GP initially who said it was thrush. I then saw the gynaecologist who said it was absolutely not thrush and to stop applying Canesten immediately - she said it was thinning/sore tissue from low post-birth estrogen levels. She said it would clear up on its own eventually but she prescribed some estrogen cream which made it feel better in a few days.

@MissChanandlerBong90 thank you for responding, I'm nearly 8 weeks pp and still not quite right doesn't hurt to pee anymore but still have a red area. Gp has given some more anti botics and I have post natal check next week so will ask her to look then
