Hi, just wanted to know peoples experiences with childbirth and how long they took to recover.
I had my baby 10 days ago, I didn’t have any tears or stitches, so just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience :)

DD2 is nearly 9 weeks old. I currently have a prolapse and injured coccyx. My full recovery is going to be a long one unfortunately!

DS1 was up and about pretty quickly but I'd say it took about 3 weeks to for stitches to fully heal.

DS2 much much quicker but a lot less stitches. I'd say I felt normal after a few days. He's 9 weeks old today and feel just the same as I did Pre pregnancy

Vaginal birth with episiotomy

Was riding my bike again at 6 weeks, with doctor’s blessing

I came here to say 10 months before it felt like my vagina wasn’t trying to turn itself inside out. Sheesh.

DS I had forceps and spinal and a lot of stitches but was surprisingly okay after a few days and was eager to get on with things.

DD (2nd) birth was normal but my placenta was fully retained so I under went the most brutal surgery (awake with a spinal) for it to be manually removed. I felt like I’d been run over by a few buses for about 3 weeks and back ache for about 2 weeks the other side.

DC1 - was out of the game immediately after birth (pre-eclampsia, liver was knackered and pethidine only kicked in after he was delivered) but by the next morning I was up, showered, hair dried and straightened and walking up and down a massive hospital to see DC in NICU while I was on maternity ward (prem baby).

DC2 - absolutely fine although more painful cramps with uterus going back to normal. Out for walks, lunch in town with both DC next day and went for a run after 10 days (mistake - thought my insides were going to fall out). Back to gym doing a sensible programme ie not running after 2 weeks.

Dc1 I was recovered from the birth the next day pretty much although I had the hormone crash on day 3 and cracked nipples from day 5 until about 3 weeks in. Also got an infection in week 2 which was probably due to doing too much too soon.

Dc2 took a couple of days and dc3 a bit longer. All 3 were vaginal births with no stitches.

dc4 and dc5 were both c-sections. Dc4 was elective and dc5 was an emergency. Dc4 took about 4 months to recover from and dc5 more like 10 months.

2 elective sections, both back to 90% normal within about a week. At least birthday enough to go out for lunch, see friends and chase my toddler round the garden. I was still taking painkillers religiously though in case it started hurting.

I was a bit bruised for maybe a month, but not to the extent it interfered with life. I don't do it much in the way of excercise/running etc, so no I have no idea when I could have resumed that, but by 3w I felt normal for me.

I didn't leak milk at the beginning (I did 6m in though 😂) and my lochia n never got heavier than my period and was done in about a week.

I was very very lucky both times.
