What were your first signs of labour?

Just that really......looking back on it now, what were your very first signs of labour?

Was it just a case of waters breaking or contractions starting or were there other 'signs' before that?

Was there a long build up over several days/weeks or was it all very sudden?

Maybe TMI, but for me I just spent the whole day feeling like I needed to poop. And also pooping! I remember sitting in my bed on the phone to my sister and telling her I was maybe in labour, but maybe also just needed the loo again! This went on all day, by early evening I realised they were definitely contractions, tried to go to bed at 10, gave up at 11 and went and sat in the bath for the rest of labour, which got pretty intense pretty quickly after that. Gave birth 40 mins after arriving at the hospital!
