Just that really...have no idea when a delivery suite will be ready and trying to keep myself occupied/entertained/distracted before all hell breaks loose!

Also share how long you waited for your waters to be broken...I've been waiting since 9am so far 😬

No experience as my last 2 births my waters went on their own. I am however due to be induced with baby number 3 on Thursday (I'll be 38+3) dreading it if I'm honest really really hoping they will be able to do balloon induction as an outpatient or even better that they can just break my waters. Good luck I hope all goes well for you and a room on birthing suite comes available soon x

I had a very positive induction. Pessary in at 11am bounced on ball a lot and watched Netflix. Was on my own as DH couldn’t come until established labour due to covid and wasn’t allowed to walk anywhere. 6pm started getting mild Period pains. 11pm had a bath and two paracetamol. 1am waters went on own but full of meconium. Was 2cm. Moved to labour ward could ring DH. 3am had diamorphine 5cm. At 5.30am was struggling corntavtiins thick and fast asked for more pain relief but upon inspection was 10cm and ready to push. Pushed for 45 min. Contractions eased off a little so they put the drip up and he was born at 6.30am.

Wishing you lots of luck x

I had a great induction last week. Went in for reduced movements at 40+2, baby's heart rate was dipping so whey decided to induce me. I waited 3 hours for a space on delivery ward.

I was 2cm at 10pm when they broke my waters and contractions started straight away. Baby was here at 1.46am!

Hope everything go's great for you, good luck!

I was induced with dt. 9 am got a bed on labour ward (had been on a ward for a week waiting for 37 weeks), 10am they broke my waters and put up a drip, by 4pm both had arrived. Not all inductions are horror stories.
Best of luck.

Truzza · 09/06/2020 13:53

I waited a whole 24 hours until... they induced me as soon as I got in which I really didn't want! As was all ready 2 Cm

It took 10 minutes to full force labour

I asked midwife to turn it off or I'd rip out my arm!!! I felt like I was in double labour

Any way she turned to minimum setting
And my son was born an hour later 😃

Truzza · 09/06/2020 13:55

Forgot to add my waters had all ready broken for 24 hours until I was induced

20viona · 09/06/2020 13:56

I had a few pessarys which got me to 3cm
With no Regular pains. They broke my waters at 9.30pm and my daughter was born at 11.50pm! Good luck!

Waters broken!!! Imagined I was on a beach in Menorca but it honestly wasn't horrendous 😊 now the 2 hour countdown begins to get this baby out of me without the dreaded hormone drip!

Thank you all for your stories and handholds 🥰 I would be lying if I said I hadn't found it tough being on my own since Sunday morning. But reading other women's birthing stories ( the horror stories as well!) on MN has massively kept me calm and reminded me of the very big prize at the end of all thisThanksThanksThanks

I'm so excited to see DP as well 😍😍😍

@Meadows20 good luck!! Hope everything goes smoothly for you

SprogletsMum · 09/06/2020 18:40

I had the hormone drip with dc4. My waters were like green jelly so they wanted him out asap.
It was fine, I had it turned up to maximum because nothing was happening but once contractions started he was born within 20 minutes.
I was texting a friend and have a message from 6.05am saying I'm bored and then another one with a pic of him sent at 6.25am!

flowerstar19 · 09/06/2020 18:48

Good luck @meadows20 Really hope baby makes a swift appearance. Is your DP allowed back in once you are in active labour?

Meadows20 · 09/06/2020 18:53

@flowerstar19

He's been allowed to come up a bit earlier and is on his way! He's been like Tigger the last few days...his whole face lit up when I FaceTimed to say he was allowed up early 🥰

Good luck OP!! My waters broke by accident when the nurse removed my induction balloon. Hope your little one arrives quickly and safely

flowerstar19 · 09/06/2020 20:08

Ah so glad he can be with you! Good luck and it will all be worth it ❤️

Wingingthis · 09/06/2020 20:10

Ahh good luck!! Had my baby via induction on 20th April and had an amazing birth. Hope you have the same 🥰

flissity · 10/06/2020 08:34

Hope you’ve had a successful night!
I would have induced Tuesday but went into labour over the weekend.

Glad your Dp was able to come up early :)

Meadows20 · 11/06/2020 18:41

Well that was eventful!

Our beautiful baby boy was born @6:24am yesterday by EMCS weighing 7lbs 4oz. Just waiting to be discharged, can't wait to get home and sleep in my own bed.

Oh gosh, congratulations OP, sorry it didn't quite go to plan. My first was also an EMCS. Hope you are safely home. Enjoy that lovely newborn! Xxx

I have s funny one. Went 15 days over with first child. Went to GP. He could not hear baby's heart. This was in 1984 with a little trumpet thing put on your yummy. Got sent over to hospital as they had more modern machine for listening to baby's heartbeat.

10 Mon walk. No mobiles then. Hot to hospital. They picked up heartbeat with no issue. I thought I would be sent back home.

Hospital doctor said as you are here we might as well start you off. I was shocked and mumbled I did not have my case with nightdress in. Begged to be able to phone DH.

Doctor literally snorted at me. Started me off then rang DH to tell him to bring my case in.

DH had just gone out to lunch so missed call. When he got back and was told hot in car, drove to fast and hit a wall them spin into another car. Had to sort out insurance details. Rushed home to get my case forgot to pick up wash bag. Rushed back to hospital but could not park so had to drive back 1/4 mile away to park. Finally got to hospital 1 1/2 hour before baby born and nurse brought me a meal which he ate.

Then he relaid this tale to family and all felt sorry for him. No one thought of me on the bloody drip, on my own.

Currently on the induction suite waiting for my waters to be broken. Came in on Saturday to be induced (37weeks) it’s my 4th child (1st was stillborn). I was given a tablet to open me up, after 6 hours I was examined and didn’t need another tablet as 3cm dialated. I’ve been waiting for a delivery room bed to become available ever since. It’s now Tuesday. I’m getting really annoyed. Any advice?
