Do they still use Prostin tablet if you're 1cm dilated on arrival?

Had a sweep today at 40+4, she said I was 1cm dilated and cervix soft but posterior.
I'm booked in for an induction in 3 days time.

Reading online about induction, my hospital website says they will do 3 doses of Prostin (each 6 hrs apart) if the cervix is closed. If the cervix (neck of the womb) is closed the midwife will insert a tablet (pessary) into your vagina.^

If your cervix has started to dilate Prostin is unnecessary and we can artificially rupture your membranes (ARM) ‘break your waters’

Does this mean they would want to go ahead and break my waters straight away, even with being only 1cm?

They'll assess and decide on the day, but if only 1cm they may want to use prostin atill to try to encourage your cervix a bit more. Rupturing membranes at only 1cm can be tricky and not very pleasant for you.

They gave me the prostin even though I arrived at 1cm and contracting. They couldn’t manage to break my waters until much later.

Depends whether they think they can break your waters. With any luck things will keep going a bit for you and you'll go naturally :)

I was induced, after 2 failed pessaries they broke my waters at 1cm but they did provide gas and air for this bit, as PP said it wasn't pleasant but only took about 30secs so over quickly

Had my little boy at 40+8 was induced and had EMCS.
I arrived at 1-2cm dilated, they used prostin gel at 3pm and checked me again at 9pm, by this time I was still only 1-2cm but the midwife went ahead and broke my waters still (that was very painful ).
