Good luck to you for tomorrow Thanks

I had my third c section two weeks ago, and was also dreading the spinal. It wasn't as bad as I had built it up to be - more of a mental panic if I thought of what was happening than actual hurt. Try to keep calm and take deep breaths and you'll have your baby in your arms in no time.

zaara121 · 20/04/2020 21:21

Good luck with it all. Try to get some sleep, easier said than done when nerves are so high.

Sending you lots of love and prayers 💕

Ah good luck OP, not that you need it, you will do great! I was dreading the spinal as I usually pass out from normal injections and having blood taken, but the adrenaline and mixture of nerves, excitement and everything else meant it was fine :)

HappyMumsie · 20/04/2020 21:32

Oh good luck! How exciting for you! Will your partner be there? What are you having - do you know?

Echobelly · 20/04/2020 21:34

Good luck - the spinal's really not so bad. TBH I loved both my c-sections (planned due to problems with hip joint)!

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 20/04/2020 21:37

Best of luck, just keep focusing on having your baby in you arms!

SallyLovesCheese · 20/04/2020 21:45

Good luck! I remember my final night before I gave birth, I barely got any sleep! I had an epidural and was initially worried but it was all fine.
Enjoy all the newborn cuddles tomorrow!!

bedtimebrew · 20/04/2020 21:48

I had c section too, honestly it was all absolutely fine and I used to be terrified of needles. You probably won't sleep anyways (I didn't) but it'll be ok, honestly

GetTheSprinkles · 20/04/2020 21:56

Woohoo exciting! I had a spinal for my c section 5 months ago and it was absolutely fine. Had a lovely chat with the anesthetist. Effects were off pretty quickly after the op.

FlowersAreBeautiful · 20/04/2020 21:59

Good luck you get to meet your baby tomorrow 😍. I've had two and it's fine. The nurse during my spinal was so lovely she held my hand which I did need at the time as I was scared but it was fine. I don't even remember feeling anything at all with the needles as they do a local first. In fact all of the team were so nice it's nothing to them they do c sections all the time!

HappyMumsie · 21/04/2020 07:15

Good luck and let us know how you are today 😊

MentholChill · 22/04/2020 10:56

3rd time trying to post just won't upload I'm fine back home now was supposed to go down at 9am but was delayed until 1 because of emergencies. Walked down to theatre for myself so worked up once in there but don't know why spinal was fine had it fitted but was so worked up felt sick and really hot anesatist gavev me some medicine and once I calmed down I was laughing and joking with midwife's and birth partner. Madam was born at 1.37 pm weighing 7lb 9oz was in recovery by 2.20 took a bit longer as I was steralised too soon stated to get feeling back in my legs went into ward about 6pm was up and walking at 8 catheter out at 9 and was discharged at 2.30 pm the next day

Ahhh that's lovely, congrats. 34 days and counting until mine. Do you mind telling us where you had it and how it was after eg how long partner stayed, how many other parents on bay,how you managed without partner? X

MentholChill · 23/04/2020 14:06

@Layladylay234 I was at Rotherham hospital went on to labour ward at 7 my birthing partner was my friend as my ex left when I was 8 weeks and not seen him since she was allowed on with me at 7 we were shown to our own room and midwife started observations went to theatre at 1 once spinal was in and I was laid on bed they fetched my friend in was moved next door to recovery straight after 2.20 stayed there for an hour then back to private room on labour ward till 5.30 birthing partner was allowed to stay whole time till I went on post natle ward then she had to leave u have ur OBS done every hour bp temp and that and staff are brill tell u to buzz for anything they pass u baby for feeding help get u comfy change nappy ect at 8 pm I had feeling in my legs so I asked them if I could get up midwife came helped me up and walked round yard an hour later had catheter out could get baby on my own as bed adjusts and I was quite mobile they keep on top of pain relief offering it to u at various points my advice say yes to everything keep the pain at bay even if u think ur ok cos u have no pain if u skip a does u will know about it and easier to stay on top of it then trying to get rid of it again. I was still sore but no where near what I expected. There were 3 other women on my ward and out of the 4 bays in total 2 were empty and other had 3 on so was quiet there only keeping c sections on and anyone with issues straight forward births go straight home . Another tip ask midwife for ur pain relief schedule So u don't need to work it out as I'd forgotten about in night do had to change it make sure u set alarm to take them in night so your constantly on top of it
