If your baby was late, how late?

40+3 today and feeling fed up Sad

How late were your babies? Were you induced? How was your labour?

My labour was more long than anything else. I was due on the Sunday 30th august 2015, I was booked in for a sweep originally on the Wednesday, but I started having contractions on the Tuesday so I decided to see if things would progress naturally. They didn't so I ended up having a sweep at 3pm on the Friday (40+5).
I got to the hospital at 9 that evening, was in the birth centre by 10.30, had my waters broken around 2am, then gave birth at 6.58am the Saturday morning (40+6).
It didn't hurt or feel uncomfortable at all and it did help move things along (the head wasn't fully engaged so things wouldn't have progressed on their own).

Sorry if that was a long detailed post. Needed a distraction form the madness.

I also had 2 sweeps within in the 12 days before , and none of them worked. I also had goodness knows how many when I went into the hospital. Everyone seemed to want a turn 😲. I was even a guinea pig for a student to practice her skills in dilation. She asked for permission and so I thought why not everyone else has 😆.

Notlostjustexploring · 19/04/2020 20:05

16 days....do I win??

NameChange30 · 19/04/2020 20:05

Notlost I think you do Grin

41 weeks, went into labour spontaneously.

Everything was fine, 16 hour labour which was spent mostly at home and last couple of hours at hospital in the birthing pool. Ds was nearly 9 pounds.

Good luck! Thanks

MrsCl19 · 19/04/2020 20:27

10 loooooooong days

KanyeEast · 19/04/2020 20:53

Notlostjustexploring, sorry but you don't, DC 1 arrived at 40+17.

Sexnotgender · 19/04/2020 20:55

42 weeks exactly.

ChanklyBore · 19/04/2020 20:58

Another for 40+17 (in the evening, too!) or 42+3 depending on how you look start. Not induced. Labour was lovely. Baby was lovely. Everybody happy.

Good luck.

Pooshweens · 19/04/2020 21:03

10 days, then 13 days and induced

I feel your pain!!

Gammeldragz · 19/04/2020 21:03

10 days, though I went into labour on day 9

Littleroundsponge · 19/04/2020 21:13

12 days late, was due to be induced but actually went into labour anyway that day

Littleroundsponge · 19/04/2020 21:15

Labour was 4.5 hours, I had gas and air and pethidine. It wasn't as painful as I'd imagined

DowntonCrabby · 19/04/2020 21:18

DD 40+14- pessary didn’t work 40+12, had waters broken 40+13
DS 40+14- pessary didn’t work 40+12, ended up with an EMCS minutes after I had waters broken and the cord subsequently prolapsed.

They both continue to have stubborn and lazy elements! Grin

Allgirlmum · 19/04/2020 22:10

8 days late eventually went into spontaneous labour

Iwalkinmyclothing · 20/04/2020 10:35

15 days (induced), 10 days (spontaneous), 4 days (spontaneous and sent me and DH into shock as we assumed our babies just didn't come that 'early').
With ds2 and ds3 I said I wouldn't be induced just because an arbitrary date had been reached. In fact with ds3 they tried to insist I had a sweep on the EDD and were really grumpy when I said no way.
