Best way to say thank you to hospital staff?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but thought there might be some hospital staff/midwives etc on here who could help. Currently in hospital on maternity ward after having DD, all the staff have been so nice and alot of them have talked about their own kids at home which obviously they are having to be away from at this horrible time to look after others. What is the best way I can say thank you and show appreciation to them once I go home? Send a card, chocolates etc? Or would that be bad to send in something from outside the hospital?

Place marking as I’m also wondering this

I thought a mixed bag of goodies -teabags, cake, biscuits etc would be good but would like to know if they can accept that stuff atm

My dd spent some time in NICU after she was born. I sent a thank you card and made a donation towards the ward, which went towards buying a new CPAP machine for them.
