If you've given birth at least twice, how long did each take? Was the second much faster?

I've heard that childbirth usually takes longer the first time. I've been trying to find stats about it but the only thing I could find is that on average the first time is 8 hours and subsequent times it's 5 hours. That seems short to me but I think it is only counted as "active labour" from 4cm dilation... so you could be in early labour for hours before getting to 4cm and the official count starts.

Anyway if you have given birth at least twice please could you tell me how long it took from start to finish each time?

With DC1 it was about 10 hours from the very first twinge to his birth, I have no idea at what point I was 4cm though. I am pregnant with DC2 and wondering how fast it might be this time...

From first contraction:
DC1 - 28 hours
DC2 and DC3 - 3 and a half hours

DC1 5 hours
DC2 9 hours

So not in my case, sorry.

1st - 16hrs
2nd - 5hrs

1st-5 1/2
2nd arrived at hospital at 8.45 had him 9.15 so 30 minutes!

First 1 hour from first contraction
Second 50 minutes
Third 40 minutes
Fourth 3.5 hours with decels and haemorrhage (didn’t go to plan- I was all set for a 30 minute labour!)

How do you know when to count from?

Or when to stop counting?

I know how long I think my labours were but they don’t match your definition

First was 12 hours, Dt were 6 hours.

5 hours for my first, 1 hour for my second.

Both about the same
1.5 hours of irregular contractions
2 hours of regular contractions
About 10 minutes pushing

My first took 48 hours in labour until I gave birth.
My second was born quickly and was born 1.5 hours after arriving at the hospital.
