For what it’s worth I was refused ANY pain relief in labour (as the Midwife’s) wouldn't believe I was in labour even though I told the midwife I was in so much pain I thought I was going to die (I was induced with a back to back baby). Refusing pain relief is barbaric.

Why did it take an official enquiry to find out women are being refused epidural’s? I’ll have to read the report, does it say what’s going to happen?

As a result of the inquiry, the health minister Nadine Dorries will write to all heads and directors of midwifery and medical directors at NHS trusts this week to remind them of the Nice guidance regarding pain relief during childbirth and to ensure it is being followed.
