High BMI mamas, how much did your baby weigh at birth?

Just wondering how much your babies weighed at birth if you were classed as overweight/obese during pregnancy Smile

My BMI at booking was 37.5 and baby measuring on the 90th centile based on measurements of my stomach/fundal height (haven't had any growth scans). Slightly concerned I'm going to have a whopper Blush

Thanks ladies x

BMI 30.0 at booking 6lb6 baby at 38 weeks.

Nursing83 · 25/02/2020 17:46

I cant remember my BMI exactly but I think just above 35 for the first then had crept up to 38ish by the last. Mine have all been tiny, my first was stillborn which has a higher incidence in women who are obese. She was 10 days over due and was 6lb 10, number 2 was induced at 39+2 at 6lb and the 3rd was a bit poorly and induced early at 37 weeks at was 5lb 5oz

Wannabangbang · 25/02/2020 17:48

6lb 4oz

shutupsteph · 25/02/2020 18:04

Can't remember my BMI but I'm a size 18/20 and my baby weighed 7lbs 11oz

Tidypidy · 25/02/2020 18:21

I was overweight with all three of mine. They weighed 8lb 14oz, 9lb 1oz and 8lb 6oz. Last one they told me he'd be at least 10lb as he measured big throughout. He was so much smaller than the first two that we had to buy new clothes as they were all too big!

whatswithtodaytoday · 25/02/2020 18:23

BMI was about 32, baby was 7lb 7oz. I didn't have a particularly big bump and didn't put much weight on in pregnancy (felt too awful from morning sickness and then heartburn!)

RhymingRabbit3 · 25/02/2020 18:28

It doesnt seem to make a difference, although it does make you more likely to develop gestational diabetes which I'm turn can lead to bigger babies.

My BMI was 32 and baby was under 7lb

stuckinthemiddlewithtwats · 25/02/2020 18:46

My bmi was around 33 I think but never got weighed after the booking appointment so would have ended up a fair bit higher.

My baby was born 4 days ago, full term weighing 7lb 1.5oz.
Per the scans, she measured 10th centile most of the pregnancy and in the last few weeks jumped to 50th centile. The measurements taken by the midwives all measured at 90th centile though, as yours have, OP - so be aware there may be a big difference once you get scan results.

DorothyHarris · 25/02/2020 19:26

BMI 35ish, my singleton was 7.12 and my twins were 6.8 and 7.9.

PurpleBag · 25/02/2020 19:32

BMI 36ish. First was 8lb 2oz, second was 8lb 12oz. Both around 2 weeks overdue.

Dyra · 26/02/2020 06:18

BMI at booking was 36. I had growth scans throughout pregnancy, with baby consistently measuring >90th centile. GTT came back negative.

Baby was 7lb 5oz when born at 37 weeks.

Sipperskipper · 26/02/2020 07:08

BMI at booking last time was 28. DD was a week overdue and 9lb 4 (no GD). BMI this time is 38, so will wait and see!

GalileoGalileo · 26/02/2020 09:30

BMI at booking was 28.5, baby came at 40+5 and was 9lb

KHR1 · 28/02/2020 09:50

BMI at booking was 37. Baby was born at 41+4 weighing 8lb 14oz - higher weight was due to height being 98th percentile, she's very long and thin. We had growth scans at 32w and 36w which were quite accurate in their estimation of her birth weight

amazedmummy · 28/02/2020 09:53

BMI of 40. Baby born at 39 weeks weighing 10lbs 10oz. No GD.

TinyPop14 · 28/02/2020 10:30

My bmi at booking was 31, ds was 8lbs 15oz born at 39+4. He has always been a long baby, he's above the 95th percentile for length and is around the 75th for weight.

procrastinator101 · 01/03/2020 15:21

Normal rage BMI and baby weighed 11.3 lbs.

Hoppinggreen · 01/03/2020 15:22

BMI 30
One 7lb 10
One 8lb

InkogKneeToe · 01/03/2020 15:23

Booking BMI was 38 or 39, no gestational diabetes. I had 2 weekly growth scans for a totally unrelated reason which showed him to be huge (measurements off the scale). As a result I was induced at 38 weeks (because of size as well as the totally unrelated reason).

He was 8lbs Blush

Heaviestdirtyestsoul · 01/03/2020 15:38

First baby, size 18, no GD- weight 8lb 15oz at 40+1.
Seccond baby size 22, no GD and lost 1kg in weight during pregnancy, born at 41+6 weight 11lb 3oz.
Third baby, size 22 had GD, induced at 38+1 weight 8lbs spot on.

Beautyoftheirdreams · 01/03/2020 15:41

I can't remember mine but it would have been high
DD at 39 weeks 5lb15oz no GD

DS at 31 weeks 3lb1oz not weight related

Arthritica · 01/03/2020 15:48

Size 20-22 clothes, don’t know my BMI
All three were between 9 and 9 1/2 pounds.

pollysproggle · 01/03/2020 15:50

I don't think BMI matters. I had a bmi of 18.5 with my first and had a 10lb 2oz baby.
Then a bmi of 20 with my second and they were over 12lbs.
Larger friends and family have all had small babies.

Newcornishmama · 01/03/2020 15:53

Bmi of 37, tested positive for GD which was diet controlled. Due date babe weighing 7lb12.

dementedpixie · 01/03/2020 15:55

7lb 11oz - dd
7lb 13oz - ds
