Just moved to Marlow - which hospital should we choose?

Hi,

We've recently moved to Marlow and found out we're expecting (hurray!)

Does anyone have any experiences of Wycombe Hospital for maternity unit? Lots of googling has just made me increasingly confused..

Experience from knowledgable Bucks residents appreciated! :)

I live nearby and work at Stoke Mandeville (maternity unit) I recommend it! It is 30-40mins from Marlow, but that's where most Marlow residents give birth, with some opting for Wexham Park in Slough and a few going for Wycombe- which is closest but is only for straightforward births. If you have complications you'll be taken by ambulance to Stoke Mandeville. It's fab at Wycombe birth centre though, you get lots of one to one attention ( it's very quiet) and has lovely facilities.

Wycombe is only a midwife led unit, so only for low risk deliveries. Anything more complicated goes to Stoke Mandeville, which is quite busy but nice. I have worked there and contemplated having DS2 there but decided it was a bit far away (I'm in MK). Wexham has a less good reputation.

Royal Berks (Reading) and John Radcliffe (Oxford) both also very good but a bit further.
