I was sick during last childbirth, will I be sick again?

My first labour didn't go too well and one of the reasons I think I didn't cope that well was because I was being sick so much. If I could have used the breaks between contractions to gather my strength and try to relax I think I would have done better but instead I kept being sick which was painful itself and just made the whole experience worse. So my question is..... if have been sick in labour before, we're you sick in every labour?

Confused with this.. Can't they give you cyclizine? Or ondansetron? I remember demanding ondansetron as I went in for my ECS because I could cope with the nausea.

I've also had hyperemesis through this pregnancy and with first and I've had several injections of both those drugs with no ill effects on me or baby.

Maybe it's something to ask mw about?

We're you given anti sickness meds? If so ask for a different one

Diamorphine with gas and air made me terribly sick!

Second time I had a waterbirth although eventually gave in to G&a towards the end-reluctantly as I thought it might make me sick.

I was sick once, for me it was due to Transition and marked the beginning of pushing.

The gas and air was making me sick so the midwife gave me peppermint oil to smell which stopped the sickness.

I was very sick with my first - not G&A related as I didn't use it but was a back to back labour. Did not have the same problem with 2 or 3.

Good luck. If you do get sick then ask for anti-sickness medicine. They finally gave me this after I had bern throwing up for 12 hours. By then I was so dehydrated I needed a drip!
