Short of a crochet needle - any suggestions getting waters to break??!

I'm 40+11 - had 2 sweeps, last visit recorded that 4-5 cm dilated and "membranes bulging" - they said that when my waters go, labour will commence in a fast and furious fashion!

I have chronic back ache, and am scared of going much longer, as I have a history of back spasms, and urine retention.

I'm due for another sweep tomorrow, but not sure I'll be able to convince the m/w to "accidentally" break my waters. Short of that, I think I'm down for induction on monday.

I desperately want a homebirth and just need (sensible) ways of breaking waters - I have treid squatting and bouncing etc... jumping off things - all of which just HURT!!!

SEX i did and my fore waters (i think) went!
it dampened the mood if nothing else!

Troulbe is - both of those are to bring on labour - until my waters go, the m/w have said there is really nothing doing - as babe's head isn't bashing my cervix enough to get it to fully dilate. I've been on/off contracting for a couple of weeks now!

Sex - yeah - I can see DH being up for that, but the idea of using him to break my waters is just tooo wierd!!

i see what you mean now, i think....have no real advice BUT please dont do anything with crochet hook...

I'm hoping that just the threat of it has been enough to get things going - that and a walk to the end of the road FGS (250yards!!) -very bad backache, lots of period type pains, and contractions - which hurt, but I refuse to time as I have been herre too many times before!!

deep breathes it will pass...
