I'd love to see all the different signs and experiences.people have had. I'm 40 weeks and feel pretty normal and happy to still be pregnant really!

I went food shopping , the morning when I was in early labour I was making tea for the builders fixing our roof and sorting washing out about 10 hours later he’ll baby x

Worrier167 · 30/10/2019 18:37

I went shopping, it was a pretty normal day really (well...as normal as it can be when you're 39.5 weeks pregnant!) That evening I had backache but didn't feel like contractions or anything. Then at midnight my waters broke and it all really got going!

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 30/10/2019 18:44

Dc1 - had lunch out with my parents and then a Valentine's meal with dh.
Dc2 - baking for the preschool art show and then helping at it. I also did my usual 3 hour shift in the community charity shop.

Had back ache with both.

Skinnychip · 30/10/2019 19:06

No signs first time round. 2nd time had bad period style pains and pelvis/back felt really achey and tight for the 2 days before.

Sweetooth92 · 30/10/2019 19:10

The day before I was really emotional. It was the second Monday after my due date DH was headed into work, after being convinced he wouldn’t be going back after his Christmas leave.
I remember seeing him off & lying on the bed and sobbing because I was sick of being pregnant (40+10) wasn’t going to be able to have our planned and wanted home birth due to dragging on so long and sick of people asking if anything was occurring.

Woke at 4am the next day to my waters breaking

kikibo · 30/10/2019 21:35

DD - no signs really, because I'd had a sweep.

DS - had had remarkably easy bowel movements for a few days/a week. Then had the urge to go out to our local Christmas market, for a cake and a mulled wine because 'it could be the last time that I'd be allowed out for a while ' and I got pissed off at DH for not wanting to go. We went, I had my mulled wine, bought a stuffed Scottish Terrier for DS in the hope he'd like it enough to come out and then I didn't want my dinner. Odd.
Actually I was quite pissed off anyway, because that Friday, my midwife had said I wasn't going to walk until Tuesday. It was already Sunday...

DS came on Monday once I'd woken up at 5 with period pains 😂.

Scrubbing my kitchen, had the sudden urge to make sure everything was gleaming.

I cleaned every inch including on top of my cupboards. I was literally scrubbing from 9am until 9pm. Only stoping to pee and eat

Went to bed and had the best night sleep of my full pregnancy woke up my waters had broken and my baby was here 3 hours later.

Everybody said because it was my first baby I would go over/ have a long labour. I was 3 weeks early and pushing for less than 20 min

LeveeOHsaNotLeveoSAH · 30/10/2019 21:45

I was induced on Boxing Day so the day before I was eating a turkey dinner! Haha! Doesn't really count because it wasn't a spontaneous labour so I didnt have any symptoms.

theruffles · 01/11/2019 12:17

The day before I had awful heartburn and a neverending thirst. I was also extremely moody and hormonal, unusually so! The day I went into labour I had been to the hairdresser, shopping and to do a late night food shop before my waters broke. I thought I still had a few weeks left because I was 37 weeks.

OpheliaBee · 01/11/2019 12:24

I was 40+5 and I was in the gym. Had the best workout I’d had for weeks! Did a good 40 minutes on the crosstrainer and some weights, followed it with a swim and felt great! Started to get a few twinges/milk cramps whilst I was there but not enough to stop me. My waters broke that evening in bed.

OpheliaBee · 01/11/2019 12:24

I’d been on a trampoline the day before that, and I’m sure that’s what did it!

Quartermaster · 01/11/2019 12:29

Had a lovely day with my two year old Smile Did some baking, went to the park, took some photos and can remember almost weeping looking at her thinking how much her life was about to change with the new baby. Went into labour that night, almost a week before my due date and two days before my planned section!

Cuddlysnowleopard · 01/11/2019 12:29

DS1 I went for a walk with my mum. I was waddling, and told my mum that there was no way I was going to make it to my due date. Woke up at 3.30am with a massive contraction (39 +5).

DS2 DH was away. I put the bins out, thought that was a stupid thing to do as they were heavy. Had a growth scan next morning, told I was definitely not in labour. Waters went an hour later.

Chocolatelover45 · 01/11/2019 13:02

MiL came round and told me I wouldn't be having the baby for ages yet as my bump was too high. I was really annoyed and went into labour the next day.

stripes416 · 01/11/2019 13:37

I didn't have any signs at all during the day and then I woke up around midnight with contractions, was in labour for 2 days then at home. I had family visitors the first day of having contractions and didn't want them knowing so I just had to try and hide it each time one came on.. no idea how I managed that now

Bb2019 · 03/11/2019 11:50

I was at a Pilates class the day before. We were about to go watch the Joker when my waters broke, then about half an hour later my contractions started and baby was born the following day. First labour.

Finefinedandy · 04/11/2019 18:54

With both my babies I had a feeling that I had just absolutely had enough. Probably just coincidence but with my second I did say my labour would start because I remembered the feeling from last time and it did - two weeks early than my previous birth.
