Can I have a water birth if I have a membrane sweep?

Due date was yesterday. If no sign of baby, I am booked in for a sweep next Friday. Wondering if I’ll still be able to have a water birth? I have been practicing Hypnobirthing so ideally trying to have as natural a birth as possible. Thanks!! 😊

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Should be booked in for a sweep before next Friday I would've thought, it isn't giving your body much time to go into labour before an induction date?

In answer to your question though, a sweep won't affect your birth plan in any way 😬

Yes you can. Some hospitals don’t let you in the pool until you’re at least 4cm dilated anyway so there shouldn’t be any risk

Thanks! Induction is booked for 29th, although I suppose I should be able to cancel or push it back if I want to, if baby is still thriving. Grin
