I have been induced... now what?

I'm at the hospital and have been induced as I have a big baby and fluid. I had the induction gel at midnight on Wednesday and at 7am this morning (I'm 1cm dilated).
I started having intense contractions and then gave me some paracetamol and Codeine. Since then, I've not really been checked up on - no CTG check for the baby or internal examination for me. They've implied they will check me at midnight tonight which is when I could have the gel again if I need it.

I feel a bit lost. My contractions have subsided a fair bit and I have no idea if I am more dilated or not. I'm in limbo. I explained this to the student MW who said she'd speak to the main MW, but she's not come to see me. Throughout the day they've said they'll come do a CTG, but haven't.

Is this normal? Tia and sorry for long post!

Ohh congratulations! Same here been induced, took more than 52 hours, full drip, epidural and forceps for my DS to come out and been in theatre as well as his heartbeat dropped and they were getting ready to have emergency c- section of the forceps wouldn't work, it was scary process at the end.. once he was out I couldn't stop talking asking non stop how is he.. my other half was with me the whole time and he keep on reassuring me all is good with the baby as he didn't cry out right away.. but as soon as they gave him to me it was all worth it never forget the moment.. first thing I noticed was lots of black tick hair he had long gone by now 😀 but his face was marked up because of the forceps plus his neck and even on the head we found a massive wound.. midwife couldn't see it because of the hair.. all is gone now except a small scar on his forehead like Harry potter 😅 there was so many things what scared the crap out of me but in the end it's all good luckily

@babyonitsway.. oh congratulations! So great to hear you & Eloise are doing well. Eloise is a gorgeous name. My DS was also 7lb 13! I was induced, nothing was happening so had waters broken then bang! Avoided CS by the skin of my ...?!!
No matter about the birth plan, the most important thing is she's here and you're ok! Congratulations! Flowers
