Hi, I was wondering if there’s anyone there who was prescribed low dose aspirin 150mg during pregnancy and if there were any complications for a baby after the birth.

I’m pregnant for the first time at the age of 41. Therefore, I’m considered as high risk for preeclampsia and should take 150mg dose according to my ob.

I did a lot of research about low dose aspirin and understand that low dose aspirin is safe during pregnancy for both mother and baby. But there does not seem to be much research about the effects of this medicine for children who were exposed to this medicine at 150mg dose.
I feel very comfortable taking low dose aspirin 75mg, a reasonable dose, but I’m a bit unsure whether this dose might be enough.
Is there anyone there who had 150 mg dose and had a healthy baby?

I was prescribed 150mg aspirin for my pregnancy with my dd due to a blood clotting issue. I was also injecting myself with heparin every day.

There were no complications and my dd was born without any issues. Taking the aspirin was the least of my issues during that pregnancy as it followed a number of miscarriages.

I also took 150mg of aspirin and had a perfectly healthy baby!

Another here, same age as you also prescribed aspirin dose and had healthy perfect twins! Don't worry xx

I had to take a low dose aspirin every day from before I conceived DD2 - DD1 died due to a blood clot in the placenta when I was pregnant so the aspirin helped to try to prevent it happening again.
If they MW/HP have advised it, take it.

I've been prescribed 150mg aspirin following a Consultant's appointment. There were concerns about high blood pressure but after monitoring it's white coat hypertension. I'm 34. I've been told there is more recent research suggesting it is beneficial and safe for mum/baby.

Thank you so much for your replies ladies. You put my mind at ease. I was just worried a child who was exposed at a higher dose, 150 mg, might have health problems later in their lives.

I took that dose because I had recurrent miscarriages, recommended by my consultant. The baby is now 17 and happy and healthy. No birth or childhood issues at all. Best of luck with it all.

I did with my youngest child. My eldest was born almost 9 weeks early with pre eclampsia. Then with multiple losses in between it was decided for multiple reasons I’d need a higher dose as I was high risk. All went well and I had DD at 39+4 weighing 6lb 7oz and healthy

I started preg on 75mg due to recurrent MC. IUGR due to placental insufficiency spotted at 20 weeks, prognosis wasn't great as blood flows weren't good. Saw a consultant at fetal medicine centre who said latest research was 150mg more effective & that it might be too late for me but no harm upping it & might help. I upped it, my blood flows improved & we've made it to 33 weeks (way better than originally expected). Also - take it in the eve & don't take gaviscon etc, it can reduce absorption.

Hi, I’m pregnant, had 2 miscarriage and I’m now taking 150mg Asprin, I have been since I found out I was pregnant. I’m keen to find out if you took 150mg also from when you found out you were pregnant?

Kind Regards,
Angela

I’ve had 150mg through this pregnancy due to have pre eclampsia with my first who wasn’t a healthy baby, this baby is night and day, growing perfectly along his lines and no complications with my bp, placenta, growth ect - so I’d definitely recommend taking it if it’s been prescribed.
