3 months ago I had a very difficult labour resulting in DC being oxygen deprived and requiring resuscitation at birth.
I've been told by the hospital that they have to conduct a review of the chain of events that led to this and I can choose between the hospital conducting an internal review or it being undertaken by HSIB, an external government body:

Im leaning towards HSIB because they're independent and the learning is shared nationally, but it's quite a new system and the hospital couldn't tell me much about it. Anyone have experience of either process?
