.. how long was your second? First twinge to baby out?

I'm due number 2 in a few weeks and getting increasingly nervous. I had a really long latent phase with DD. First twinge to baby out was around 50 hours I think. I had an epidural for the last 11 hours or so, (which was amazing) but I was SO knackered I struggled with pushing and can barely remember the day she was born. Was fobbed off a lot by crap midwife (prior to epidural) and ended up going for counselling for ptsd, mainly down to not getting pain relief earlier when I really wasn't coping.

I know second labours are usually a lot quicker but I'm really scared of this happening again, so I'd be interested to hear about others experiences!

1st -first twinge to baby - 52hrs

2nd - first twinge to hospital 4hours, hospital to baby -1 1/2 hrs - not enough time for an epidural (so they told me!)

89 hours with first.
5 hours with second!

With my first I had a really long, slow early labour from 3am Friday morning to around 4pm Monday evening when I hit active labour. But 2nd time, I had managed to dilate to 4-5cm without much pain at all so the rest was quicker and easier!

I was worrying myself all the way through pregnancy that I'd have another slow and painful labour but luckily I didnt.

Believe in yourself... Your body and your baby know what they're doing even if you dont!
