This dad was kicked out of the labour room for telling a ‘joke’

‘The new dad aged 25 described the midwife as a “joyless hag of a nurse”.‘ 😱

I’ve just seen this on Dadsnet: www.thedadsnet.com/new-dad-kicked-out-of-delivery-room/

What do you think about it? No way my wife would have found that funny in the midst of labour!

I know the ‘extra stitch’ joke has always been there but strikes me as more of a ‘in the pub with your mates’ gag rather than during labour, to your wife.

But I think the midwife may have been a bit OTT!

No idea why the link didn’t work 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe this?

I expect that the mw could see that his 'laughing along' wife was very much not amused. Its always the mouthy twats that think they're oh so hilarious that can't see everyone else cringing.

His derogatory references about the mw definitely show more about his character than I needed to know.

I expect the mw had concerns that he might be abusive and controlling as well as a twat and wanted to get her alone to make sure she was OK before releasing a vulnerable newborn and new mother into his care.

I'm calling bullshit. That's a joke Robbie Williams made on Graham Norton, which Emma Thomson then wrote into Bridget Jones. The other is an old, idiot joke. No one with 2 brain cells to rub together would make both those jokes when they've just been handed their newborn.

SlimGin · 10/06/2019 19:31

The language he is using to describe the midwife ('joyless hag', 'demented old boiler', 'I left before my ears started bleeding', 'miserable old bag') is really disgusting and depicts him as a horrible man.
I'm glad the midwife asked him to leave. It won't be the first time she's heard that insensitive 'joke' so I expect there was something about his attitude and interaction with his partner, or way he was speaking to the midwife, that caused her to ask him to leave.

I also reckon this is a deliberately goady story designed to cause a big reaction then laugh at all the ‘silly womens’

But it was just bants tho.

Miserable gits not letting him be so hilarious. He's very funny and is very original in his jokes.

I'll bet the wide laughed so hard she had to have new stitches....in her sides!!!!

Tosser.

He sounds like an absolute prize twat. Thinking he’s on Comedy Central with his pilfered ‘bants’. Good on the midwife for protecting her patient from this kind of crap when she is at her most vulnerable. No woman should have to chuckle along to jokes from her partner about her ruined body moments after birth. What a dick.

Shitsandgigglez · 10/06/2019 19:39

The whole story is clearly a load of shit designed to wind people up. The use of language is clear and the added moaning about the NHS bit 🙄 Not very subtle

Of all the things that never happened, this never happened the most.

As a PP said, they’re both totally recycled jokes anyway.
