How long were you fully dilated before baby born?

For me it was around 10 hours from being examined and told I was fully dilated to my baby being delivered. I now understand this was an unusually long amount of time. Just curious how long it was for others from this point until delivery?

There is a few reasons your 2nd stage may have been long.
So really baby should be out by 4hrs from being fully dilated, but some scenarios change this.

With an epidural usually wait for 2hrs for descent of baby’s head before pushing which may be another 2hrs which takes us to 4. You then may continue or stop if waiting for docto review if baby not coming. They may be busy with another woman (we sometimes have 3/4/5 plus women pushing at the same time. May be a delay from decision to doing anything.. if need to go to theatre or just general prioritising.
Transfer to theatre, set up etc can be a while also and an instrumental may be a good 20/30mins by the time they start.

So yes 10hrs is a long time but a good 4hours is generally the norm/average when an epidural is in place
